Even before all that complaining he’s only cracked 100 yards 1 time all year. Teams are just loading box and daring hurts to beat them.

If that is true, it would explain the reasons for the secrecy.

I listened and this paraphrasing doesn't do it justice. Nick was pretty direct.
    - Mixon didn't do anything off field to injure himself, it's a unique medical "condition" first time Nick has seen. Can't be more specific than that.
    - Mixon wasn't at the facility, but there was no issue with the team on that. Nature of the condition.
    - Mixon is under contract, but they don't yet what his status will be for 2026.
    - Praised Mixon repeatedly for his communication with the team and the work he put in trying to get back, said he did nothing irresponsible, just an unfortunate situation.

The truth will come out eventually. I’ve been pondering what this “freak” accident or medical condition could be. After long thought I think I am going with something that involves a bowling ball. I don’t know why, but that is what I’m going with. Maybe he wasn’t wearing the proper footwear while bowling and a mishap occurred. It’s a possibility.

I don't know if the rumor is true or not on the shot in the foot injury. But if true, Mixon's done playing football. Do we know what type of bullet it is?

The kind of magic bullet that, upon x-ray, shows no entry point and somehow teleported itself into the center of his foot without hitting any other bones.

The GM outright denied that it was anything ridiculous or irresponsible.
