We have to let him go, with a Trent Dilfer we win the Super Bowl this year. CJ Stroud - just look at his eyes - dude is scared of his own shadow -- what a wussy - doesn't inspire, doesn't rally anyone, not a leader a guy that you look at and go WTF is wrong with you? The definition of a man who has been a front runner only - he has to go, we need anyone but him....Hell I am SHOCKED that Davis Mills didn't get a look in the 2nd half......**** HIS FEELINGS....bench his sorry ass. DD
here's the thing... if you pay a QB $60-$70M per year, then the offensive line will actually probably get *worse* from an individual talent standpoint. NFL GMs should really think about that.
Stroud is broken. He needs a thorough neurological exam, a sports psychologist, and a fresh start on another team. If the Texans max him out, they are insane. Maybe they can find another team dumb enough to do another Watson deal. As far as this fan is concerned, the Stroud experiment is over.
ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh goofy ass mfer (#7)
That is the worst playoff performance by a QB that I have ever seen, bar none. I was a denier before this game. I was wrong. Maybe some dumbass team like the Jets will give up a 2nd or 3rd for him and then go out and hire a Journeyman game manager.
Actually...the Jets would be the most likely team that could give up something for him. Especially since Moore is going back to college.
It is possible that he has neurological damage. How many concussions has he had? He could be shell shocked. I wouldn’t be so quick to pull out the coward card. This is a real problem in the NFL. I’m not sure, there was a single game this year where there were no concussions. The pillow helmets should be mandated no matter how silly they look. It’s easy to be a keyboard warrior. I’m wondering how brave you would be after taking multiple shots to the head by 260 lb guys with 4.4 speed.
The Texans OL started the year bad, and ended up actually above average. I'm sure that by whatever metrics this last game by them was not good, but honestly, a good QB and OC can throw or scheme their way around what the Patriots just did. Caley did not make adjustments until it was way too late, and by that time CJ had already thrown the game away multiple times over. The OL has had their problems, but last night was not entirely on them.
Howard going down didn’t help, but this game was solely on CJ. 4 interceptions (all his fault) in the first half should’ve got him benched. I fear he is done as an NFL qb.
I love CJ, but dam that was bad, it masked the bad performance in the Steelers game. I`m not going to call him soft but he just doesn't seem to have "it", behind the scenes I hope there calling the Jets or the Raiders for a trade, I think he needs a change of scenery................we have done him no favors in terms of OC or O Line, but its clear he is not the answer. The sad part is we squandered this generational Defense.........its going to be a long off season and the rhetoric will be non stop, not sure who listened to the 610 post-game show but it was negative as hell ......that's what this off season will be
I listen to it on the Audacy app, obviously here in Tennessee and it was brutal as it should be- Clint saying it exactly right - i'm not even sure anyone's going to be easy on him throughout the different shifts for that matter. If the Texans were smart, they would look for Plan B right now. This defense deserved to continue in the playoffs
There’s probably more truth to this than most people realize. If you watch CJ closely in the Steelers game, he’s just a slight blip off on his timing. I’m not making excuses for his fortitude or lack thereof. There just looks like there’s something wrong with him that can’t be explained by nerves. As for Guardian caps, hell yes they should be mandatory. How much better would the overall NFL season be if you didn’t have key players going down for multiple games? Not to mention the well-documented long term neurological effects of multiple head injuries.
Well yes, but whatever it is, he is scared.......and you can't play football scared, I am sorry if it is concussions that sucks, but whatever it is, he is DONE as a QB.....and if he can't take it anymore - he should retire for his own good. DD
By no measure is the Texans' offensive line "above average", LOL. They are near the bottom in every rushing metric, which has crippled the offense, and the pass protection is, at best, inconsistent. Against a very average DL, the interior of our line yesterday was being shoved into CJ's lap play after play. The Patriots have a good QB and (great) OC, and couldn't scheme around a relentless Texans pass rush. Obviously, the Patriots' D are not the Texans - but if your QB is under constant duress, the results are going to be bad and the answer is not, SCHEME BETTER! It was entirely on them! The Texans averaged 1.7 ypc on run plays. That took the play action off the table and the pats could tee off on Stroud. Perhaps the most critical play of the game - CJ's unfathomable pick-6 - was with a defender hanging on him. He was rushed and harrassed all day. I'm sorry: we cannot allow our frustration with Stroud to exonerate other legitimate issues with this team. It is a *bad* offensive line. Advancing from awful to mediocre does not make it good.
I don't want a repeat of RG3's final year that was wasted on someone who ends up out of the league. That happens to a lot of players. Then there's also the reclamation projects. We don't know which way CJ will end up for sure, but the worst performance ever in recent memory probably has most of is leaning towards NFL dropout than NFL resurgence. It just sucks that we're stuck in this spot when we thought we had our guy for a decade. I do blame the organization for much of his failure, but what's done is done. They already broke him, but it doesn't mean they must invest everything to fix him and give him infinite rope to fail while we waste other successes of this team.
