Baker was never bad, he just ****ed himself up because his dumpster fire franchise had him play injured.

Sam Darnold came into the NFL under Adam Gase, I cannot think of a worse Coach-Franchise combo aside from Hue Jackson and Cleveland, which Baker came under.

Meanwhile, in Houston, the coaching has been mostly above average. These failures are entirely on CJ, or he's broken from too many concussions. Either way, he's got to go.

Nick has to seriously explore moving CJ this offseason.

If you can't find a trade, you have to draft a QB in the first 100 picks.

If we roll with CJ next season and he's ass again I want to be able to move on ASAP.

Would you give him away for a 7th?

Why do you believe that our QB coach is above average?

Just not the draft to try and grab a QB.

CJ is not either of those QBs... Baker has an edge and is physically stronger with running and taking contact. Darnold is smarter and able to game the game way better than CJ. At this point if he goes to a different coach/system he still has to be able to be consistent with executing under pressure. Any type of conflict he tends to freeze up and panic. I just think CJ is different.

Honestly I have no idea but personally I'd try to get a veteran and/or go with Mills. Add on to the swarming defense and build up the oline along with a running back that helps Marks.

Draft Trinidad if he has to declare.. . Let him sit a year then give him the keys if he ready in 27.. But as far as next year.. I expect the same ol same ol.. 1st rd win then out.. Let's be honest, Stroud ain't going no where next season

When has there even been a timid, skittish QB that was successful in the playoffs? I have seen enough to know that Stroud is not fixable. I'd rather have Mertz in their next year if need be.

That's a hopeful declaration.. The reality is the front office is timid and skittish so they'll stick with Stroud at least through next season.. They've only made splashes because of the outrage geared toward the organization, not because of a player .

You start by trading stroud for whatever you can get as far as draft picks. Then u sign a QB that actually doesn’t hurt or sabotage your team. They are out there. Look how Jacoby Brisset played this yr for example. We would go to the Super Bowl with Jacoby Brisset. We don’t have to find a Drake Maye.

So anyway, you trade stroud and sign a qb to compete with Davis Mills.

You extend Anderson with the money from letting Kirk walk and the CJ trade.

find some money to resign Autry and sign a FA RB like Dowdle.

Spend your draft on o-line and defensive depth.

Boom, we are right back where we need to be next season.

but we’ve got to move off CJ. He’s holding our team back. Actually he’s actively hurting the team. First rule when you have a Super Bowl defense: QB do no harm.

The verdict is in. Doing anything else is just wasting time. Don't put the fan base through this again. The window on this defense can close at any time. Make a move now. Give up on CJ, make a move.

I'd rather have him as a backup for two more years than a 7th round pick.

CJ should be worth a 4th or 5th rounder at the very least.

I am not interested in dumping him unless we have a bird in the hand, however.

I wish we could get Trinidad cause he has some fight and will run and sling it. We don’t need a great qb we just don’t need CJ and his turnovers

Funny enough, Moore’s NFL comp is Stroud on some sites.
If we’re tanking, I would want Arch. A real threat to move who also happens to be a Manning

Imagine in 2026 Tank and Mixon come back full force and the offense suddenly starts humming.

I would almost be upset... Getting sucked back into the "is CJ worth it" convo.

No way im paying mixon $10 mil next yr coming off a potential career threatening injury. I’ll pay Rico Dowdle $6 mil and ride him and Woddy to victory.
