He absolutely would have destroyed Hakeem. How can we have the second most dominant center in the league averaging 7.9. How can we have the most prolific scorer in the league averaging under 20 points a game.
At least in 6 months you will be $100 short. In part because of Yao. How does it feel to bet against "your" team. Please don't p***y out when i bump it. But since i suspect you will, you might as well go join a Fakers forum. Not wanted here.
It is not hard to figure out. You have a maniacle coach, who will not let the players play the game. A short, frustrated, never had the talent to play at this level, coach. DD
Amen. Amare is having a monster start. If he keeps this up, he'll be better than duncan? I don't actually believe that, but I think the logic used by some in this thread can also be used to show Amare > Duncan. Shawn Kemp was Amare like. Phx style of basketball does not win in playoffs( It could change though, you'll never know. But so far in the history of playoffs...). People I would take over Amare to build a team around: Duncan, KG, Yao, Lebron, Kobe I left out Shaq because so far this season, he looks old and hated by refs.
Last year it was all about Steve Francis. This year it looks like you're gonna focus on Van Gundy, got it.
Right now Amare is just scary good. Players guarding him are intimidated by him. Afraid they’ll be the next victim of his monstrous dunks. Yao needs to get to that point because I don’t think they are a ton of centers out there intimidated by Yao.
Amare relies Heavily on his Atheletic Abelity, While Yao relies on his skill and finess. you Dont lose Youre Skill, but you sure as heck can Lose you're Atheletic abelity. Just ask Shawn Kemp!!. I dont See how anyone can Compare Yao and Amare . both are so different it's not even close.
Using your logic, it's official: Z man > Yao & Shaq Ray Allen > TMac & Kobe And it based on 2 weeks's play into a new NBA season. LOL!
I never liked Francis me first game, and I wrongly blamed Rudy for not getting through to him. JVG is destroying the confidence of the young players, and filling the roster with ex-knicks who are buried at the end of other teams benches. Our offense stinks, Yao has not thrived, and is being forced to be a player that he is not, and the team is struggling. Yep, The coach it is....I really despise the man. DD
Please never compare a titleless player that you don't have to double-team and can't build a team around to Tim Duncan.
There you go with that horde mentality. Filling the roster with ex-knicks? We have ONE ex-knick player significant minutes, Charlie Ward. And even JVG admits he should not be playing those kind of minutes. He was planning on starting Sura. The only other Knick in the rotation is Deke. Please don't tell me you despise that signing. Yao has not thrived? Yeah he's had some bad games, almost all of which were due to foul trouble. I guess JVG is in cahoots with the refs in a conspiracy against Yao. He is forced to be a player he is not? Like being a dominating center? In the 9 games we have played so far, Yao has scored 25+ 4 times. In all of last year, he did that 11 times. Yup, he has digressed. Last time i checked, Yao is still one of our young players. And this season, he has played with more confidence than ever. People keep getting on Jeff for "not developing young talent". Hello? He developed Yao.
Please never compare a titleless player that you don't have to double-team and can't build a team around to the Dream. You blasphemous heathen.
1. A young Hakeem had no title. 2. Maybe teams should start double teaming him so he will stop hanging 30 on everyone. 3. If you can't build your team around a player that is 21 and sores 30 points a night while grabbing almost 10 boards a game and blocking almost 2 shots a game you can't build around anyone.
You can build your team around a player that is 24 and scores 18.8 points a night while grabbing almost 8 rebounds a game and blocking almost 1.3 shots a game. When he commands triple teams, the entire attention of every defensive scheme, and makes his teammates infinity better. You'd think by now people would realize stats aren't everything. You can't double team Amare because half his buckets are open layups created by Nash.
I would say he gets probably 1/3 of his points from open layups (MAYBE), but not half. Half is a bit much considering he's scoring 27 points a game. Maybe he isn't double teamed as much as Yao (although I'm sure he gets his fair share), but that's only because Amare is quick and decisive. When he gets the ball, he's on his way to the hole. He's not looking to pass, and he doesn't wait for the double team to come. Stats aren't everything, but they aren't meaningless either. Amare is having a spectacular season - a season that Yao is SUPPOSE to be having instead! And I think he is well on his way to becoming a franchise player.
