Jalen Green played in all 164 regular season games under Ime, and he got fewer than 20 minutes just 4 times. Two of those were games 80 and 81 of last season when the team was in rest mode for the playoffs. Speaking of playoffs...Jalen averaged 31.4 minutes against the Warriors despite shooting 37.2 / 29.5 / 66.7 -- and that counts the one game where he actually got hot. Excluding that game, he shot 31.1 / 19.2 / 63.2 for the series. So clearly detrimental to the team that he got his ass traded ASAP, and still...didn't get benched. If you think Jalen Green getting pulled was a thing, you've some strange definitions.
1,000 percent correct, and EVERYONE gets crossed up and makes mistakes, but not EVERYONE shoots 41% from 3pt range and has an assist to turnover ratio approaching 3-1..... Reed makes this team better even with his learning how to play defense Ime's way, and let's not forget his STOCKS......the dude is the player we should be building around....PERIOD ! DD
Great offense has always beaten even the best defense, and in today's NBA the offense has more advantages than ever. Literally everyone looks helpless on defense a few times per game. But for some reason, it seems that any point Reed gives up gets magnified like it's the final possession of a Game 7. He never just gets beaten, which happens 40-50 times per game to every team, meaning on average it will happen at least a handful of times to any individual playing significant minutes. No, when Reed gives up points, it can only mean that he got "cooked", "abused", "hunted", etc.
This is what I was trying to explain to @TheRealist137 . Everybody sees to fall trap to this agenda or narrative. The #s always tell a completely different story.
I wish we would field something like this and then let Udoka become obsessed with improving the defense and rebounding: Sengun/Jabari/Adams Durant/Jabari Okogie/DFS Sheppard/Tari Amen/Holiday We just need to upgrade Holiday, otherwise we have everything we need. I think the team will make a move at the deadline, should organize things a lot better.
Hyperbolic much? There is not a GM, player, scout, and maybe about 4 fans outside of his relatives that think Reed is someone you build a franchise around. I get it, you think he is really good. Get a grip.
He got benched at the end of games a few times but this is generally true. There wasn't any extended stretch of him losing minutes pretty much ever.
Probably deserved today tbh He overpassed on 2 dumbass plays where he had an open basket, led to a TO Reed should have some sort of electric shock therapy for it I think he has too much energy tonight, totally ok to bench him we’re up big
All that “move the ball, make the extra pass” crap is from his mom. Only works in HS and on the championship GSW teams.
Then you need to stick to baseball. Just kidding. Everybody, even DD, is entitled to their opinion, but building a franchise around a non-athletic 6-1 combo guard, c’mon man.
He’s closer to 6’3”, some list him as 6’2” like many things about Reed it seems people try to overstate or exaggerate things. He is slightly undersized if anything. Regarding the man point, I agree he is not prime curry you build around However, his shooting is a fundamental construct for a championship team teams seek out aggressively. He’s 20ish years old essentially half way through his first seaosn
This is a reasonable take and maybe I did exaggerate things to make a point. DD is unhinged when it comes to Reed. Ime does need to learn how to utilize Reed’s skillset for the betterment of the team, but it is not just a Reed thing. He is just a bad coach.
Reed needs to score better to get more time. Still like future, but short term buzz is taking a hit. Rockets still need shooting.
