Sources: Kyle Tucker fields offers from Mets, Blue Jays - ESPN

Outfielder Kyle Tucker, the top free agent available this offseason, has been offered a short-term deal by the New York Mets that is believed to be worth $50 million per season, sources told ESPN's Jesse Rogers on Tuesday.

-Likely srtuctured similar to Bregs, 3 year, $150 million with a opt out after each year.

Numbers remain elite but had a post injury dropoff so will need a year of consistency to get a $400 million committmen

The Joe Morgan/Jack Billingham/Ceasar Geronimo/Ed Armbrister trade for Lee May/Tommy Helms/Jimmy Stewart was the worst trade in Astros history.

    Grimsley is from Cleveland Tx.

I met his cousin the other night at a party. Very nice lady.

Maybe not the worst from a value and production standpoint.

But the fallout cost iis a GM a coach and shame on the city.
Plus Carlos Gomez being crappy ups the ante as well.
Lost Hader in his prime also.

I do wish it hadn't cost us Jeff. I'm not 100% certain the scandal never comes out, but I do think it would have looked a lot different if and when it came out because I don't think it would have been a 1 team focus. It would be more like greenies where we just accept every clubhouse had them and nobody really cares

It also cost Beltran his job with the Mets, and he hasn't gotten any serious consideration for a managerial job since.

Fiers was furious after he was left off the playoff roster; but to be honest he was spent as he’d carried the Astros in the middle of the season as all the other starters seemed to be injured. He sucked royally in his last few stats of the season.

I think he ultimately regretted being the rat, as that defined his career. Nobody saw him as a hero or anything noteworthy, he was viewed as a scoundrel. I think all of baseball saw him as dirty.

The only thing Fiers treachery did was give ammunition to the Astros haters, for being so good!

Hader was not all that, when the Astros traded him. It was certainly not a given that a prime Hader was going to be something special.

grrrr...I said it at the time of the trade: Hader was the 1 of the 3? (Houser and Nottingham?) guys who we'd miss.

I also knew or expected nothing wrt Fiers and thought Gomez would be a solid addition...so what the hell do I know?

Pressly greatest postseason closer in Astros history.

Easily could have been MVP of that 22 title, the game 5 performance alone was absurd.

    According to Jeff Passan

Center fielders Carlos Beltran and Andruw Jones were elected to the National Baseball Hall of Fame today. Beltran was chosen on 84.2% of ballots and Jones

78.4%, exceeding the necessary 75% threshold.

I better not hear anyone say that Jose Altuve shouldn’t get into the Baseball Hall of Fame
