There were proven scorers like sexton and clarkson available for a bag of chips but stone would rather collect more talentless all "hustle" stiffs in okogie and dfs

Okogie a career 30% shooter was on a hot streak at the start of the season and people thought that was sustainable lmao

I'd be happy to make a tip jar bet that he has at least one more game this season making at least 4 of them on >=50% shooting :)

Sexton makes almost 20 mil, way more than DFS and okogie combined so that's nonsense. The last time clarkson shot a good % from 3 was never, he's always been a terrible shooter.

I doubt that Udoka told Sengun not to shoot. Sengun said directly that Silas told him not to shoot 3. He never said Udoka did. But his hesitation is real. I've said lots of times. A big part of shooting is mental. When a shooter is hesitant, it messes it's rhythm and muscle memory. Even good shooters like Reed has the same problem.

My complain about Sengun's coaching is that if he is not good at shooting 3, then he should not be starting from outside the 3pt line. They should run more PnR with him and let him get the ball at the FT line moving toward the basket. They had pretty good success last night doing PnR between Durant and Sengun. I don't know why they don't do it more.

yea I dont know about you but im definitely taking sexton's 15 points at 20m over dfs 2 points at 13m. You are worried about efficiency when these bums are playing hot potato anytime theres a defender 5ft in their vicinity

unfortunately the rules of the CBA don't care about what you're taking or not taking

So you're saying Alpi needs to learn to shoot longer 3's?

Let’s do some math. I rate him to br about 30% 3pt shooter. On a game where he takes 8 shots, he has a 19.5% chance of making 4 or more. With 6 shots it is 7% and with 7 shots it is 12%. On average it looks like he needs about 8 to 14 games for this to happen. I just don’t think he will take that many 3s that often. Of course it is a non-zero probability that it will happen but the chances are quite lower than 50% imo

as a related question, I wonder how many games will he take more than 4 attempts regardless of percentage

Here is an idea, start all your great 3pt shooters...

    KD
    Reed
    Tari

And watch how much better the team is.

The team has a lack of 3 level scorers apart from KD and Reed, who Ime doesn't want to play. The lack of talent reduces the margin of error, which in turn increases pressure, which ultimately leads to poor shooting.

it’s a killer that Bari can’t come close to being that 3rd 3-level scorer. You’ve got to have more than one in your starting lineup.

Bari is better with Reed running point as he gets the ball with time to catch, shoot, drive whatever, with KD he gets that grenade in the last 2 seconds of the shot clock.

The 3s here are already longer than under FIBA rule but not by that much.

Does he still fire up those one handed Flamingo shots? I am not watching him that closely this year.

He has lost his touch and confidence.

I blame it on Ben Sullivan, he had a lapse of some kind....haha, he is the FT master.

We are #1 at free throw defense. That counts for something. ;)

Fun fact. Sullivan is a 6’10” former post player. How on earth is he our shooting coach? He did the same thing for the Bucks, but for the life of me I can’t remember the Bucks being known for their outstanding shooting?

    Good job with that observation.

One of those guys that re-invented themselves to just hang onto their NBA job.

Did not realize he was a Udoka buddy from the Spurs day. Did Ime surround himself with AAU buddies and his favorite former co-workers? No wonder there’s no creative offense. Just a bunch of scrubs that peaked at D3 as walk-ons and Royal f’ing Ivey. Tiago might have been the only one who knew anything about running an offense.
