The rockets almost lost this game by sitting him. So that is literally arguing that the rockets should risk losing the game vs playing the most impactful player. I agree he will likely be shipped, and he would be an idiot not to request it. This team is a sinking ship
I agree but game like this makes Ime look dumb, game like OKC won’t help the narrative for Reed. He still needs to be efficient like tonight while getting crumb minutes. As I said it’s pretty much broken relationship between Ime and Reed, he gotta string up some good shooting games and then he might have a case of forcing Ime to play him but Ime will always have higher ground due to he can manipulate Reed’s minutes. Ime basically play Reed when we’re down and never see a minute when we have a lead, it’s like “Hey Reed we’re loosing so get us a bucket or you’re back to the bench, oh and also once we get the lead you’re also going back to the bench”
Jalen ended up benched in 4Qs multiple times not sure where this comes from lol. FVV is the one who got PT no matter how he plays.
He wont be shipped, and the Rox arent a sinking ship. How can the Rox be a sinking ship with Sengun Amen and KD? Worst case fire Ime and hire Michael Malone. Rox may be disappointing and underperforming but big picture they are still hella young outside KD and only 2.5 games behind second place.
That's true, but Jalen was also getting over 30 minutes a game. With Reed's hot hand today and he was ok on defence, he should have gotten 28. Bro got 19 minutes
That’s my point. His value can only go down from here so why play him if he’s gonna be part of a trade package in the next week or two. If he doesn’t get traded, then yeah Ime is an idiot. But let’s wait until the end of the deadline first
That's exactly my point, they won't fire Ime because they gave him a 6 year extension. What we have seen the last 15 or so games that is getting more nad more exposed is the norm for a Udoka coached offense You're a 100% right that having Amen, KD, senguin, and Reed (if he actually uses him) should not be a bad team. But you are giving Udoka too much credit This team is not winning a playoff series
Jalen’s calling card was offense and Ime’s tough coaching basically halted Jalen’s confidence as offensive player. I’m just worried that none of our young core improved their offense since Ime became our coach. Reed is the only rare shooter that broken that mold but now he is also getting hammered by Ime’s philosophy.
Jalen only got 30 mins because last year we had no alternative. We didnt have Okogie, Tari still injured, Reed was playing bad. He would have been benched otherwise. Reed didnt get more mins because Ime is clueless, we agree on that. He always ices the good player for no reason.
Team is less cohesive as a whole. This year's GS team yes, but last year's they would have done worse. KD's age is going to catch up here and there. They won't be playing GS in the first round Remember, we are struggling to beat the bottom feeds (and losing in spectacular fashion) to the worst teams in the league.
im fine with Ime bullying Reed because of his defense. Reed's mom bullies him all the time. Just play him.
Be careful with things like this. You don’t know who Ime is as a person. Yes we know he was horny and wanted to **** some girl when he was with the Celtics. To me that doesn’t make him a bad person. Just someone who made mistakes and didn’t respect the relationships in his life.
If you look at his stats Jalen performed the same on offense pre and post Ime so I dont think he got halted its just that Ime is dumb on offense. He is Silas on offense he cant help people score better. You are right Ben Sullivan or whoever our dev staff is sucks ass our players havent really taken the jump thru development other than Sengun who has his own team and getting coaching from Euroleague/Turkey team. I've been saying this since the season Ime seems more and more like Mark Jackson to me.
He wont get traded bro he is prob thr last top 3 pick of the rebuild Stone wouldnt trade him, Stone ranked him no 1 in the 2024 draft. Internally Stone and Ime prob fighting right now.
I think most coaches are like this to some extent, they usually have one or two things that are just completely unacceptable in their eyes. Like back when we had MDA, you could make as many defensive mistakes as you wanted and he would not care at all. You could miss as many 3s as you wanted, you could be 0/10, and he would not care at all. But if you got a pass from Harden, and you were open, and you didn't shoot the ball, you were getting benched immediately. And he would yell at you. You are out there to shoot the ball when you get it, and if you pass up an open shot, that is not tolerated. Ime is the same on defensive mistakes. He doesn't care about the offensive side of the ball. And it's not even just about how good your defense is overall, its specifically about the mental mistakes. It's about the bad decisions. If he sees you choose to do the wrong thing, he's going to pull you and he's going to scream at you. And unfortunately for Reed, he's the kind of player that makes a lot of bad decisions on defense. And unfortunately for the team, that gets him benched, even if he's playing really well. I feel bad for him. I think it's bad for the team and bad for Reed's development to treat him this way. But Reed does make a lot of mistakes, and that's just how Ime coaches.
