I still remember during his rookie and second year under Silas he played beautiful basketball, that's why he got the baby Jokic nickname. But now he plays nothing like Jokic, more like a Joel Embiid with no shooting.
I agree. I also think the double bigs has put Sengun and/or Adams (usually Sengun) on the perimeter way too much. It just exposes his slow lateral movement.
The whole FVV as a savior for this team is so silly. People forget how much he and our offense sucked last year. They also forget that Dillon’s shooting and defense went downhill the second half and he was terrible in the playoffs. Turns out Durant was a really crap fit for this team and now we are stuck with a horrible coach with a 5 year extension and a 37 year old albatross contract. I didn’t think it was possible, but the Rockets have turned me into a pessimist.
He is tired, I think the Euros wore him out and he needs a break. Also, he has never been a good defender, but his offense made up for it, I think KD is ****ing it up for everyone on offense by being the focus. DD
That anywhere is probably Land Grit and Grind for sure......but yes, we would need a Steve Kerr and some great offensive shooting talents.
Yeah, I agree here - he looks like he hit a wall from playing basketball for his country over the summer. I just don't know when he is going to be able to get a few weeks of rest to catch up. This team doesn't have a lot of scoring outside of him and Durant and they are in dangerous territory with the recent slide in the standings where they can't afford to necessarily drop games. It would be one thing if we had anyone at all getting hot but everyone on the team looks fried at this point and it seems like its a matter of time before Durant takes his annual 20 game sabbatical given the heavy lifting we continue to rely on him for at his age.
I mean ALL-STAR weekend is around the corner. Lol if I’m Rockets. I would be probably make up a BS excuse and sit him at the beginning of February until all-Star break. if he still comes back looking the same then we’re screwed and couldn’t even trade for Giannis if we wanted to.
Sengun just came off missing how many games, and now he’s tired not even 40 games into the season? I remember being told last season that the reason his finishing was poor in the paint is because he was exerting so much effort on defense that he didn’t have the legs on offense How are you “the hub” if you get fatigued so easily?
No one said he's a savior. A hell of a lot of people acknowledge though a competent Point Guard is SO. F'ng. Important. Like, everyone who has ever played a game of basketball in their life. You seem to be so adamant against that not being an issue. From the absolute get go mind you. Yet halfway through the season you're repeatedly proven wrong over and over and over again Maybe this is just another case of you making things up and living in fairy land - you know - like how you were so adamant Sengun ignored Reed, but then I presented you with facts and you shut the f'ck up real quick. Hopefully you do the same here on this point because by god when you're wrong, you're so hilariously embarrassingly wrong.
He is who he is - like I always pointed out, his big games never really changed the Rockets trajectory … not as much as JG big games .. it’s why we had such a better record when JG scored over 30 now KD scoring over 30 and it’s not having the same impact … you lost 2 near 40% 3pt shooters and over 40% catch and shoot 3pt shooters and replaced them with Adams, Okogi (lineup looks better when Tari was shooting over 40%) but now you have no one who can create and get in lane or get create his own shot and hit tough shots but KD
I think Sengun has some ongoing leg issues that he's been consistently worried about for a long while now. Do none of you recall his first couple of seasons? He regularly was attempting to dunk on whoever wanted to get in front of him, no matter how unlikely it would be for it to be successful. He would attack the rim with anger. Moreover, on the other end of the floor, he would consistently attempt to block dunk attempts. Sengun himself reigned in that aggressiveness to challenge defensively due to him being in foul trouble so often that it would cost him minutes on the floor. Not like he is a good rim protector or anything, but that's not my point. He had an excitedness to attack or challenge at the rim that I love to see in any player, and that is really no longer the case. Is Sengun's athleticism truly already declining, or is he just dealing with some rickety calfs/hips/knees/feet? Idk, maybe I'm ****ing losing my mind here.
