The Script was written, the Rockets exerted all their breath for a run in the 3rd, and they rested SGA for 6 minutes......3 pointer kept falling.

But for a second Chet seemed to be fouling out though.

Cason, Wiggins, Caruso, Dub, all those guys with swift and large hands......steals galore.

 

Amen Thompson is playing way to many minutes.

you're supposed to incorporate KD into the offense not using KD as THE offense.

a KD's led offensive team go no where.

We need a bench. Our bench was out scored 49-23

 

mda's team were spamming threes. it was a math game. they were bricking too.

naw KD just doesn't have Ime's mentality - DB does. You can have an underdog mentality as a winner. KD came in thinking they were going to make the NBA Finals by default. that is the dangerous mentality. no scrap. Rockets lost the mentality to be dogs.

We plod up court, get to our stations and try to muscle in baskets. It has to be the hardest way to play this game.

There's no misdirection, free baskets, or mismatches (except on the glass). There's no plan to run on the break or baskets generated out of secondary action. It really is a losing style unless you have the very best athletes at every position.

Our opponents are smarter: they play with pace, quick passes, player movement, and drives.

Whats crazy is, we looked just as bad against the kings.

 

This is starting to remind me of the beginning of the 2015-16 season when the team seemingly quit on McFail.

 

Yep, MDA's teams here were thus pretty decent on defense.

MDA would have won a championship if not for some BS and CPs injury.

I understand in other sports defense is king, you need a great goalie in soccer/hockey, you need great pitching in baseball, you need great defense in football...

In basketball though, better offense always beats better defense.

It really should be easy for Ime. Put your best offensive players on the court and coach them up to play decent defense.

I think we need a PG because at least they can run the offense. It's why I wish we'd get CP3, he seems to want to teach and coach, I think he'd see some of these things and call the team out on it and we need it.

 

they didn’t even try to get guard help

they signed freaking Clint Capela to be a 3rd string C at 7 mil/yr

they went after the corpse of DFS who looks cooked and like a candidate for hip replacement

 

OKC 2nd round pick a year ago is better than our #3 overall pick in the same draft

 

our WHOLE roster “is the bench” tbh

 

Been hoping he improves and he still could but Sheppard’s timeline doesn’t fit with what they’re doing. Too many mistakes. Between being in wrong position to receive a pass from sengun in the post, not going over a high screen to slow down the shooter, letting his man blow by him in the paint, and shooting stupid leaning jumpers he simply doesn’t make this team better. This negates any 3 pt shooting he has.

 

I want to but can’t really blame Ime tonight.
