    Sura cleared to practice

Rockets guard Bob Sura, out since undergoing back surgery in September, participated in Thursday's shootaround, having received medical clearance Wednesday to begin working out with the team.

"I'm good to go," Sura said. "They tell me it's a slow process, working my way back into practice 10, 15, 20, 30 minutes at a time and building up to where I can go full practice and then get back to playing. I get to go full contact, get in a few drills, get in the mix a little bit.

"It feels good. It's been a long time."

Rockets trainer Keith Jones said Sura needs three weeks before he is ready to play.

Three weeks is outstanding. That puts him back in the lineup before mid-December.

I wonder how long before he can shoulder a full load effectively . Maybe starting after the ASG break?

Exactly! 3 weeks is December 3rd. That puts him back for our big homestand. The Rockets have a real chance to add to their win total in December.

when 100% he will make a big difference for us. even w/o him we are playing at a pretty high level. sure our record is 3-3 but before the season started most of us said if we go 3-3 in our first 6 we would be happy.

if we can be a 500 team while only playing the best...wait till the weak teams come around.

i hope sura isnt rushing anything. we are fine right now. we will need him around january when we are making our second half push.

    Just an update...

During the broadcast last night, Bill Worrell said that Ward could be back on the floor within two weeks. He has been running really tough drills and should be cleared for full contact at the end of this week. He apparently has been working his ass off to get back into shape and is ahead of schedule.

Sweet. I knew that guy starting at PG for us the past few games was an imposter.

It doesn't matter if he comes back. He hasn't become the PG we needed him to be. I hope Sura can do the job. If not, hope we can still go after AD.

I really hope Sura becomes the cure-all everyone here thinks he will be.
