Your post made me think of some lyrics from a song by Laura Nyro

My troubles are many, they're as deep as a well
I can swear there ain't no heaven but I pray there ain't no hell
Swear there ain't no heaven and pray there ain't no hell

Sure didn't sound like he accepted anything. It sounded more sarcastic or, as he said, "just in case" people were right about the whole God thing.

I often think about other religions and wonder what they will think if there wrong or I think about what if I am wrong................what if you get to heaven thinking you know the truth, but then you get up there and its 100% the opposite of what you believed in your whole life...............your like oh man, I followed the path I thought was right and come to find out I was wrong :D

The very first person to enter heaven after Jesus opened the gates was a lifelong criminal and sinner- the thief that was crucified to the right of Jesus asked for forgiveness and acknowledged him as his Lord and Savior at the very last second, and Jesus told him "today, you will be with me in paradise." Lk 23:43.

Accepting Jesus on your way out (if sincere) can definitely get it done.

If you ever get a chance read “The Evangelical Universalist.” I completely agree with you that God loves us way more than we deserve and way way way more than we can even imagine. All of us. You don’t have to agree with all the premises of the theology in that book at all..it’s where I am now in my faith. Which is subject to change of course. I’m certain that God is way bigger than our minds can comprehend.

We share a ton about Houston sports that I love, but this is absolutely my favorite SuraGotMadHops post :)

What if pretty much all the religions end up being wrong and once we die we're just .... dead? lol. But look on the bright side - at least you won't know you're wrong. I've always wonder the same, though, but no matter what you believe, there are going to be billions of people that were wrong. :D

The criminal admitted his mistakes/crimes before that, said what he and the other criminal had done deserved the punishment they were receiving, and then requested Jesus to remember him upon His entry into Heaven. That was sincere (unlike the other criminal who was basically "c'mon, if you're the Messiah, get yourself and us down from here!").

On the other hand, in Adams' final tweet, he literally said he wasn't a believer but the risk/reward seems to be pretty good with saying you are, so he said it. I was like wth? lol.

Literally Pascal's wager will literally be a literal failure since with such use liberally as there is liturgically no actual "faith" behind it.

(or so I think - I don't know how all this works... literally, anyway)
