for those wiling to get beyond the mainstream narrative and avoid likely a premature victory lap.
https://substack.com/inbox/post/184321008 from Alastaire Crooke who along with his wife is fluent in Arabic, Farsi and Hebrew with 30 plus years of experience in the MIddle East.

wikipedia: Alastair Warren Crooke CMG (sometimes misspelled as Alistair Crooke), born 30 June 1949,[1] is a former British diplomat, and is the founder and director of the Beirut-based Conflicts Forum, an organisation that advocates for engagement between political Islam and the West.[2] Previously he was a ranking figure in both British intelligence (MI6) and European Union diplomacy.[1][3]

It seems like the US/Israeli inspired riots with violent imported protestors have just about fizzled out. A major break through was that Iran was able to disrupt the communications between the violent mostly external infiltrators and their Mosad and other handlers coordinating the disturbances. The regular internet was cut off except for government agencies and then they shockingly were able to cutoff the appoximately 40,000 Starlink devices with the help of Russian and Chinese countermeasures.

The Iranian officials are arresting the violent instigators. Also interesting talk about how easy it could have been in the Debai Exchange to manipulate the Iranian currency the 30 % plus abrupt drop which was one of the main main precipitations for the initial legitmate protests the violent outsiders and the Israelis tried to take advantage of.

It is good to see that even MAGA is starting to turn against spending many billions of American tax dollars for MIGA --Make Israel Great Again or perhaps better said: "Keep Israel Committing Genocide"

This is a distorted take on history - are you getting your info from youtube or history books? If you're really interested about understanding not just the muslim world, but civilizations around the world, check out Will Durant's History of Civilization.

The Story of Civilization - Full 11-Volume Set: Durant, Will, and Ariel Durant, B/w Illustrations (tipped-in): Amazon.com: Books

Couple hours a day and you'll be through it by the summer.

Sunni or Shia isnt as important as taking on materialism and the culture of the West. This is what fundamentalists really resist against and marketed to the people of Iran when oil prices exploded in 1973 and income inequality grew higher than ever. Islam exclusively rules as a brutal, authoritative regime because Shariah is the only end game. Those who deviate are the infidels. That's why radical Islamic killings persist all over the world regardless of whose in charge, it is a fight against prosperity, growth and liberalism essentially. The most powerful middle Eastern country is Saudi, and the large oil revenue combined with low population allowed them to push out the radicals from their country. The muslim brotherhood was banned from Saudi and the UAE but operates freely in the US.

What Reza Khan did that was SO pivotal was move away from religion. He told Iranians to unite through their shared history (even changing the major religion to Zorastasian which few followed) and respect for minor differences. It brought in a lot of prosperity and growth to the top 10 or 20% of people. There was also a lot of corruption that came with bureacracy and the oil prosperity was concentrated in the hands of a few people. With that, there was envy that everyone wasn't getting a piece of the pie. Islam is what swung the pendulum back to essentially capping the prosperity so the labor class wouldn't feel left out. You see shades of that now and muslims in the West trying to get into politics to push that. History just keeps repeating itself.

So in order for any non Ayatollah to rule Iran, this thought process has to be accepted by the people. Not sticking to the doctrine of shariah and Islamic authoritarianism, but economic prosperity brought in by liberal ideas, outside capital and some semblance of consumerism. And convincing them it won't only go to those at the top of the economic ladder.

It is completely different to the secular way of thought and law in Christian countries that attracted people from all over the world - the materialism and all the good or bad that comes with it. So far, they have shown an ability to market this materialism and acquisition of materials over envy but cracks are beginning to show.

What is the point of having dozens of military bases throughout the Persian gulf if we always need to evacuate them when a conflict is about to erupt between us and the only adversarial regional power in the area Iran?

At this point, I’m not sure if it’s a change of heart or a fake out, but it looks like the mission was called off last night. And both Israel and Iran communicated through Russia that neither were willing to strike first.

Christian Europe needed to have the 30 years war before it realized the Folly of having religion be coequal to the state. Somehow, we have forgotten that lesson in the US.

The Turks learned it following World War I. The Arabs tried to learn it, but we ended up funding religious extremists to antagonize and eventually overthrow the opposing Arab socialist leaders.
Iran somehow went backwards in all this Deciding that a liberal or socialist revolution was a worse outcome than reinstating a theocratic form of government.

Christian Europe was extremely intolerant of liberalism, And it was not until the progress of the industrial revolution gave enough political power to the liberal and industrial elite to overcome the entrenched religious authority/conservative, landowning aristocratic classes across the continent.

Kudos to Napoleon for kickstarting all this.

Iranian elites want to be seen as equals at the table. If they subjugate themselves to the actual major powers, they automatically disqualify themselves. It’s why Islamist populism became so popular when the Iranian government under the Shah was trying to implement the white revolution (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/White_Revolution) because Iranians saw the Shah as a puppet to the US.

But even if the Iranians achieve their dream of Greater Iran, they will never be equals at the table. The G8 are decades ahead in economic development.

    Will Durant? Really?

I mostly read contemporary books written by academics focused on specific periods and geography. I generally dislike broad reaching books like Sapiens since they’re too pop science/history.

He’s so far gone breh. Imagine if he has sisters, he would encourage them to be “Be Good” and would not even batting an eyelash if they would perish from their own stupidity like what happened in Minnesota.

Woke idiots are not only stupid but extremely cold hearted and dangerous. The poisons that they took from the left have done permanent damage to their mind, heart, body and soul.
