Last season was clearly the Oline and losing 2 of your top 3 receivers in the later part of the season. We know you don’t like CJ. You would rather have Levis or Maye. CJ had a bad game, but made plays. I expect a better game from him
So, now that the numbers are out, CJ Stroud had the 2nd worst PFF rating among QB's in the wild card round, only ahead of Justin Herbert, with Aaron Rodgers right behind him. The Patriots were the 4th best scoring defense this season, the Texans the 2nd best.....and the Steelers the 17th best. In short, CJ was pathetic against a terrible defense. That caliber of performance will not cut it this week against a team with a real defense if we have ANY hope of winning.
Stop making excuses. You bash Herbert and he’s lost more help each season. Stop with the Levis lies. And yes, Maye would make this team the superbowl favorite. That’s an easy upgrade.
I say that every week but we've scored atleast 20 points in all but one game (Titans ) during the 10 game win streak. I don't see the Pats getting to 20 against this defense.
I don't see how either team scores much if at all. The 2 defenses might score most of the points with special teams doing the rest.
Would we? I'm not so sure. The more I see of CJ, the more my gut tells me that his ceiling is not as high as we thought it was two years ago. After the horrible showing from him against the Steelers, we are forced to hope that come Sunday he finds a way to not mess things up for the defense - i.e. put them into unfavorable situations. That is not the way you should look at the guy who is supposed to be your franchise QB.
To me, that’s a reasonable take. I ate crow because I didn’t like him predraft, but he showed me I was wrong that first season. The problem is now he’s shown some of the things I was worried about the last two. It’s in there, but to what level?
