The group of states in the Governors Public Health Alliance continues to grow and now numbers 14, along with Guam. The Alliance will do their best to take over depleted or destroyed CDC functions like tracking outbreaks, bulk-buying vaccines, and issuing their own guidance. My guess is that these states will perform better than others in most metrics over the next decade or so. I also think other bluish states will soon join.

So, let's see. Regime blows up alleged drug boats ... and shows that they don't actually give two ***** about the effects of drugs on Americans. And their party loves to bring up mental illness after mass shootings -- and hey, I totally agree that's a component of many such tragedies -- and then do the opposite of investing in the problem.

 

Looks like this weird decision has been reversed already, due to outcry. Watching and making noise works, sometimes.

 

I know it gets lost in all the unprofessional, extreme political nastiness and abnormal, unethical behavior, but it is worth reminding folks what basic, VERY BASIC norms look like.

We are all forgetting what “normal” is. We have become immune to these abnormalities.

This is no way to run a business or anything resembling normal decision-making, never mind a government.
