CJ was frustrating and made a lot of boneheaded errors for the first 3 quarters that made me lose a lot of support for him...but if he could continue to play the way he did in the end of the 4th quarter then my hope will be renewed. He clearly has the ability to do so...that Woody TD drive was as good as any could hope for.

Also, no doubt Herbert is talented, but I dont want him either at this point. He does not look like a winner when the lights shows up. Burrow can't even make it into the field without ending up into the injured list.

Because it's implied when someone says CJ sucks, they mean in a relative sense. Because if all other QBs in the league were perfect and never threw picks, then yes CJ would suck. But if all QBs threw 2 picks a game, and CJ had 3? Then he had a below average game, the fumbles were flukey. Take away those flukey plays and his body of work was decent last night.

All QBs throw inaccurate passes, run into sacks etc. Saying someone "didn't play well" only has meaning in a relative sense.

Implied is something you’re arguing. I’m not talking what about or anyone else.

Im talking specifically about our QB, who played poorly. Like I said, the fumbles don’t bother me. Most of his throws were off, he had happy feet and ran into trouble. He didn’t perform well, even if counting numbers say he did, which in reality when watching the game were from YAC outside of a couple really nice throws.

I don’t care how the other QBs did. Just ours.
But, if we want to compare we can.
Maye was better, against a better defense.
    As was Purdy.
    The others? Not so much.

Regardless, you and some others are making the claim he’s a top 5ish guy and to be paid commensurately, so he needs to perform like it. He hasn’t done that in two seasons, consistently.

Also, I never said he sucks

CJ has clearly regressed in the last two years. It's obvious. Maybe better coaching can help him improve. Maybe not. Bottom line is, his performance last night will cost you against the Patriots.

There are pages that are only showing 10-12 posts. Once CJ plays well, its more along the lines of 19 and 20 per page. Goes to show. That some people in here would rather be right than the Texans actually play well offensively.

Its a mental issue that I decided to stop engaging with. And guess what... I engage with anti CJ posters who are at the very least semi objective.

Find the quote where I said he was top 5. I never claimed that he's a top 5ish guy at all. He's a top 15 guy, and other people are talking as if he's a backup that Mills should start over.

CJ would be about #20 on the list of QBs taken if there were a re draft.
There is zero chance he is still considered even a top 15 quarterback.

Gonna have to agree with this take. Never would happen though. If the Bengals trade Burrow it will be for 3 1st RD picks plus

I could possibly see 12-18 range

Allen, Mahomes, Burrow, Stafford, Maye, Dak, Goff, Love, Herbert, Darnold, Purdy, Baker with TLaw, Dart, Caleb, Hurts being possibilities.

I would have him 12-16 range

Darnold is not better, unless you ignore last year's collapse in the Playoffs, or how he has been neutered completely in recent games. The Seahawks don't trust him.

Baker collapsed down the stretch, check his stats the 2nd half of the season. Dart? lol. Caleb has elite offensive line, playcaller, weapons. Hurts is not better than Stroud right now.

Actually, I think it will "help" against the Pats. CJ was embarrassed. He got a ton of criticism. He will come out smoking in NE. Though Nico won't be there, the young receivers will shine. More and more, Nico is reminding me of Tara.

Darnold is definitely better, I don’t think that’s really debatable.
Baker fell off towards the end but is still better over the last two seasons.
Dart had better numbers and far more athletic, but it would be upside that takes him over CJ.

Even then, there’s still 10-12 better right now

Yeah, he needs to kneel at the altar of Meco.

2 OC's in 3 yrs and after 3 yrs still struggles with basic checks/reads. With this said, he's not a terrible QB (despite crapping the bed last night) he's just a mid tier QB. Certainly not worth 60 mil a yr. I'm not a Mills fan either but they're close in performance (Not talent) and Mills makes 10 mil per yr. CJ's gonna get 60 mil per yr. Is CJ really that much better than Mills and is signing CJ worth losing pieces off of this great defense?

You're saying CJ played well last night? Caley didn't call a great game?

Dart is going to get hurt a lot
Darnold is not clutch at all. Can't depend on him. We'll see if he plays better this playoffs.

Could definitely see Dart getting hurt a lot.
    Darnold we will see.

Either way, comparing CJ to them says a lot.
