4 of the 5 “analysts” picked the Steelers last night. If the defense plays as they can/should… not sure there’s a team thats an obvious pick against them.
A lot of talk about CJ and how he needs to stay poised and composed, and all of that is true. Ultimately it's his responsibility to take care of the ball, and be the manager of this offense. However, someone that nobody is mentioning that played a huge part in the buffoonery is JAKE ANDREWS. He was all over the place with his snaps last night, and directly led to at least 2 of the fumbles with his shitty timing and location. He absolutely needs to be better this week, and I hope he and CJ are able to work out what the **** was going on with those shitty snaps.
I'm never one to get overly worked up over talking heads' picks since they are mostly uninformed, but ESPN spent the entire pre-game gaslighting everyone into forgetting just how shitty the Steelers actually were this season. It was so ****ing annoying to watch.
I understand the Texans are the red headed step child of the remaining playoff teams. I understand that despite being around for 24 years, they’ve only played in ONE national 3:15 game of the week games in their existence (by far the lowest of all NFL teams during that timespan), which does limit their reach/exposure. But in a league that will celebrate any/all teams… regardless of market size… it still baffles me as to how oblivious everybody is as to the elite level of this defense. To the point that you can sense a bit of embarrassment on their part that they haven’t really been paying attention.
Stephen A is a Steelers fan and Ryan Clark played for the Steelers. Who did you expect them to pick? It's like when Saban took Alabama to beat Indiana...
They were picking the team that lost by 24 at home by a whole lot. I can’t imagine why anyone would take their commentary seriously. It’s always an angle that’s founded in nonsense. Which probably means one of them will be our next President.
I just wonder how long the Texans can keep this formula going. The defense is legit best in the league. But what if they have an off game. The scores to a lot of the Texans games look like the games were closer than they actually felt because the offense just didn't put up more points. But the defense kept them in games. Maybe the roles will be reversed and eventually the offense will have to carry the team to a win if they continue on to a deep playoff run.
Right now, they only need this formula for 3 more games. That is all that matters. Hopefully the offense contributes enough for them to continue advancing. Caley has a lot of work to do and some very big decisions to make in the offseason.
The Texans defense does well because usually everybody on that side of the ball is better/stronger/faster vs the opposition. granted, some guys could make a mistake on assignments. Some guys could get hurt. Some guys could get tricked here/there… but this is not some magical scheme/formula. They’re just literally better and can only beat themselves if everybody healthy. To top it off, they have multiple pro bowl “x factors” in guys like Pietre and Al-Shair. If somebody does happen to make a mistake or miss an assignment, these two are right there to not only make up for it… usually they cause even more disruption. I know offense sells, QB’s are the highest paid, and ultimately that side of the ball will always be the more focused on point of emphasis… but this defense has IT.
Danielle Hunter just tied his best season AV (2018). He's still capable prime production, literally*. *16 games vs 17, true
