National park passes have always had some nature scene on them. Not this year.

The National Park Service has also been instructed to void passes that sticker over Trump's face.

This is your preview of July 4, 2026. It will be all Trump and very little about the United States.

    Minnesota is now ground zero:

ICE dudes from other places are being immediately turned toward Minnesota.

Schools have closed because of ICE.

Last night, USDA announced the department is suspending all federal funding in the state. Yep, everything. Crop subsidies, SNAP benefits, soil conservation--everything.

The Vice-President of the United States said he wants ICE to go "door-to-door."

The cost of a human life is set at $0.

How does this align with MAHA?

If you’ve been to China, you know what dirty air in modern, technologically advanced cities feels like. You wouldn’t want to live there. The wealthy Chinese send their kids to the U.S. or elsewhere to study and live.

It sure looks like corporations are running the agency.

E.P.A. to Stop Considering Lives Saved When Setting Rules on Air Pollution
    https://www.nytimes.com/2026/01/12/climate/trump-epa-air-pollution.html

In a reversal, the agency plans to calculate only the cost to industry when setting pollution limits, and not the monetary value of saving human lives, documents show.

EPA Will No Longer Consider Lives Saved in Pollution Rules, Only Cost to Business | Truthout

For the first time in decades of the practice, The New York Times reports, the EPA will effectively set the cost of a human life at $0 when doing cost-benefit analysis for fine particulate matter (PM2.5) or ozone pollution — two air pollutants that can cause lifelong respiratory issues and are estimated to cause tens of thousands of premature deaths every year in the U.S.

The seismic shift will make it far easier to repeal pollution rules from facilities like coal-burning power plants and oil refineries, according to internal communications. It signifies a significant heel-turn for the agency, pivoting it from one dedicated to protecting the environment and human health to one focused more on aiding business; as the Times points out, the agency’s air and radiation office head, Aaron Szabo, was formerly a lobbyist for the oil and chemical industries.

Minnesota Sues to Stop ICE ‘Invasion’ | WIRED

The State of Minnesota and the cities of Minneapolis and St. Paul on Monday filed a sweeping federal lawsuit to halt what they call an unprecedented and unlawful surge of US federal agents in the Twin Cities, arguing that the deployment amounts to a constitutional violation and a direct threat to public safety.

The 80-page complaint, filed in US district court in Minnesota, targets the US Department of Homeland Security and senior federal officials, including DHS secretary Kristi Noem. It asks a judge to immediately block what the federal government calls “Operation Metro Surge,” a large-scale immigration operation that plaintiffs say has sent thousands of armed, masked federal agents into Minnesota communities far from the border, overwhelming local infrastructure and law enforcement.

At a press conference Monday afternoon, Minnesota attorney general Keith Ellison said the lawsuit is intended to stop what he described as an unlawful federal escalation. “This is, in essence, a federal invasion of the Twin Cities and Minnesota, and it must stop.” He accused DHS agents of sowing “chaos and terror” across the metro area through warrantless arrests, excessive force, and enforcement actions at schools, churches, hospitals, and other sensitive locations.

    ...

In a separate lawsuit Monday, the state of Illinois and the city of Chicago sued DHS and senior federal officials, accusing the Trump administration of unleashing a militarized immigration operation that has “rampaged for months through Chicago and surrounding areas, lawlessly stopping, interrogating, and arresting residents, and attacking them with chemical weapons.”

Ironic considering he's talking about bombing Iran for the same thing, essentially.

From $45 to $499? This is the value of the Trump brand. The courts that found he grossly inflated his value seem not to understand this.

This is a dog whistle? More like a blow horn through a megaphone.

What's next? Making ICE agents wear brown shirts?

we are watching a repeat of the rise of the 3rd reich in real time. i feel like were all just sitting here in a slowly boiling pot of water and very soon its going to be too late.

if i was betting id put my money on the 2026 elections being cancelled under some pretense of martial law.

the damage is done. i dont see our country recovering from whats going on. too many people in this country are supporting what trump is doing and hate democracy and our constitution. they arent even trying to hide that theyre authoritarian-loving fascists anymore.

Much like the World Cup. I imagine more than a few people have re-thought their visit to our country for the games.

I foresaw this park pass thing, thinking about the trip we'll be taking the week after July 4th to Rocky Mountain National Park.
    I KNEW he'd pull this.

We don't need the America the Beautiful Pass necessarily because I don't know if we'll visit other national parks / monuments in the year. Just the week-long (three-day?) pass for each visit. But that simpler pass will also likely have Trump the Hutt on it as well.
