We've seen terrible player development We've seen players regress significantly. Who knows if Jalen Green's confidence issues and brain deadness was the stagnation on the offensive end this team instills into players. Jabari, now Reed too. Everyone randomly gets offensive brain deadness incidentally ..in a system that has zero offensive emphasis or discipline Reed had the highest +/- on the team for 19 straight games. He has 2 terrific starts , has 1 bad one and they bench him. Then game to game over any small mistakes he goes from lot of playing time to none. Dude looks like his brain is fried at this point and it isn't fworking. The job of the coach is to get the most our of his players and he is clearly failing at that Coach thinks Aaron ****ing holiday is going to play better than Reed on offense or Defense? Clearly doesn't work, worst player in the game. Reed still plays just 15 minutes and we lose the game. That signals zero adjustments based o nthe flow of the game. At this point we aren't winning games and we aren't developing players @Bobbythegreat brought up a great point. Udoka has had as much say as any coach i nthe NBA in this team from GM to personnel. Take away his Holiday toy and give his assistants the boot. Hire offensive assistants and keep the coach on a short leash like he does the players

Newsflash.... If Reed was good enough he would have played last season. I know folks are incredibly emotional but Reed was not very good to start the season either. You have to be pretty stupid if you actually think the only development happens in live games......

I think Reed is going to be a good player. People thinking he was going to march in here and make a big impact last year, @BTG, were delusional. Now, Clutchfans is looking at Reed starting as some kind of panaceas for our woes. He is progressing and is a rotational piece. That being said, he should’ve started last game. Starting and playing Holiday so many minutes has finally woken most of CF to what a problem Ime’s ego is for our team. I’ve never been more disappointed in an extension in my life (Ime’s). We are stuck with this brand of basketball for at least 4 more years.
I don't think he is going to be the next curry or stockton, but the truth is I don't know. He has shown up flashes of brilliance to at least warrant development, not being sent to purgatory for any ticky tack bs or standards nobody else on the team is held to. Somebody here once said Ime's job is to win games not develop players Last night he did neither. Every metric across the map would recommend playing Sheppard over Holiday. He didn't even do that, he sent Reed to purgatory and started a guy that has no business of being there. If the coach can't be held accountable for a very blatant illogical and braindead decision what on earth can he be held accountable for? I have been extremely critical of Reed, just look at my recent posts. That doesn't change the fact that he is actively being sabotaged, and at this point even he is openly showing his disgust. Reed is probably asking for a trade behind close doors, who in their right mind would want to play here with the track record on player development and players losing half their IQ points on offense. I think we are in violent agreement. On another note, I think Reed was being brought along correctly for much of the season. After Reed failed in the starting chance Ime gave him, I’ve seen a pronounced difference in approach to playing Reed. His recent benching is very puzzling, especially after how well he played in the third quarter against Portand last game. I thought for sure he would start. Holiday was an absolutely cynical or absurdly ignorant decision.
Stop being an emotional idiot.... Are you seriously saying the Rockets coaching staff spent zero time developing Reed since we drafted him? Are you saying that the Rockets coaching staff didn't develop him at all last season? No one is saying it's not the coaching staff's responsibility to develop players.... BUT all this hindsight 20/20...... is just butt hurt emotional throwing **** at the wall and seeing what sticks.... "Well we should have just let Reed make a bunch of mistakes and get physically picked on because he hasn't had a full offseason of NBA strength and conditioning". As if just just somehow guarantees any sort of productive development.
Then what is actually different from last season..... Reed is meeting more of the expectations and therefore is averaging twice as many minutes?
