    A secular, democratic Iran would be the ideal outcome. But this will not happen without serious concessions from the current government and a desire from the people living in Iran.

    The most likely result, with or without U.S. intervention, is continuity of the status quo.

    A fragmented Iran is also possible if the current regime collapses without a credible replacement government.

    Reinstating the monarchy is not a serious or realistic option.

    meh could just be a smokescreen to catch them off guard. recall that last June, Iranian and US officials were slated to meet for another round of negotiations on a Saturday and the occupation launched a "pre-emptive" attack on Friday.
