Just once I’d like to see him outsmart another coach. The false bravado shtick is so damn tiresome.

It would have been the same issue with FVV…and it was. The rockets lost to the 7th seed last year and it was touted they didn’t have a goto offensive guy and Jalen was the reason for it all. What you’re complaining of we all saw with FVV on the court, maybe just less turnovers is all.

offense still came to a halt and team still played like a chicken with its head cut off

    would it?

After last season, we pretty much all agreed that we needed a closer... someone to take the offensive load down the stretch... thats what we were shopping for in the offseason... imo KD has filled that role... Unfortunately we gave up a defensive anchor in Brooks to get it... if we had brooks instead of jabari...

and 'playing like a chicken with its head cut-off' - lets be honest... thats Amen and Tari... young guys that havent developed the acumen to make the right decisions... hopefully they figure it out... but again, thats what u get relying on draft kids vs spending that capital on known commodities...

We had incredibly long stretches of “offensive famine” last year

you can rewatch the GS series if you want. It’s pretty apparent.

the rockets are playing JVG ball in 2026, it’s not difficult to see.

im not going to disagree... thats what adding KD was all about... if u replace JG and bari with KD last year - we are gold... i didnt appreciate how much giving up Dillon would hurt us... and i dont think many appreciated how much losing FVV would hurt...

If we had FVV/Amen/Brooks/KD/Sengun this year... with Reed, Tari and Adams coming off the bench... id bet money on that team!

Starting Holiday last night and playing him 2 times as much as Reed was really a head scratcher. It's not like Holiday was shooting well lately. He's been shooting 14% from 3 in his last 10 games. If Okogie played more, I would understand it was for defense. But Josh played only 9 minutes.

I actually like Holiday. But he's not better than either Reed or Okogie. And he played more than those two combined.

    I don't get it.

The most plausible thing I think is the schedule. They've been on the road for a long time and only have been back at home for a game then right back on the road again.

I know last night they were late to the hotel or something, they could just be tired. For whatever reason the NBA thought it'd be cool to not give them a single solid homestand at the start of the season.

Players do tend to shoot better at home.

They should have still won some of these games though, they can't close games at all and that's obvious a big issue.

I agree that the long road games stretches did not benefit with us. But as you mentioned, we let too many of them to slip away. Loosing twice at Portland, twice at Sacramento and at NO.. these were 5 road games that, for the very least, we should have won 2 of them. Like we split the 2 games at Utah. When by the end if the season we’ll be 1-2 games behind the place that leads to a playoff spot, we’ll remember this late Dec to early Jan bad stretch..
It’s just sad, it really is.

nope. That’s 2 games. as I said he hasn’t performed well and very inconsistent. 32% three last 15 before last night yet many of you are caught up in these couple games.

    Three games**
and that itself is skewed by him not taking many threes and more middies and layups.

You are right. Reed is progressing nicely in my opinion, but the hyperbole around his impact and performances has been extreme. I think Rocket fans for the most part are just starved for a shooter and got overexcited. There may be another reason for some people regarding skin pigment. We should all just be rooting for the guy and being objective about good or bad games and improvements he needs to make.

No, he needs the ball in his hands, he should be running PnR every game - Reed should be leaned into, not trying to squeeze the ball into a guy who can't hold his position for squat in Durant....

Reed should be,, and the Rockets would be better if he would be....the starting PG on this team......and yes, he needs to learn it.

He is a pg by height only. He is a better shooting FVV. If you can’t penetrate the lane in today’s NBA,you are not a PG. Right now, he struggles mightily beating his man off the dribble. That is pretty much the most important skill a PG should possess. It is possible that someday he might be a decent pg, but it seems unlikely with his physical limitations. He should be leaning into his elite skill (if Ime would allow it) which is shooting, as in SG.

Team needs a guy who actually knows how to run an offense..and shooters paid millions to figure out how to not shoot 17% from 3 over the course of multiple games…and omg please finish layups and make FTs.

I can get you open looks…I can’t make the shots for you. A coaching change ain’t gonna magically solve those issues.
