Maybe they are just not as good as we all thought? The young guys have not stepped forward and have plateaued or in some cases regressed. Team certainly doesn’t appear to be anything close to a contender.
I really think putting Amen as our point guard has hurt us more than loosing Dillon. Amen should be in dunker spot all the time in the offense and not dribbling since only thing he can do is drive in or jump pass at last second without thinking. Reed is more of a SG than PG like CJ McCollum that can handle the ball at times but not extensively. It’s crazy but player like Ben Simmons would be perfect running mate for Reed since they both cover their weaknesses, Amen is not even close when it comes to handling and passing vision of what Ben Simmons was.
I think the individual players are "as good as we thought" but they are missing a crucial component in competent point guard play .... How can you be a real contender without that crucial piece of the puzzle. That's the glue that holds all of the other parts together. They probably get tossed in the 2nd round this year .... just hope that when Fred does come back that he's whole or that they can trade him for that missing piece.
I knew this would happen, I never bought in to this Fraud Coach. I only box score watch. How far has the Rockets fallen since Mike Dantoni got fired. Too much incompetence from the Owner, GM, Scouts, Coaching Staff.
