By this evaluation Daryl Morey is a casual. His Pistons are... 28-9. Constructed with advanced stats and a lot of experience.

??? I usually enjoy reading your posts but this is just hyperbolic and absurd to say the least.

It's not everything but it is a fundamental indicator for many decisions, even in real time for a coach.

Even when evaluating post game performance film matchup stats help you determine aspects of matchups you might never have considered.

    valid points!
Here's where I am confused... i keep hearing that we need a better offensive system and are too reliant on KD isos... but...
    A) nobody had an issue when we ran Harden isos to the nth degree... bc it was our most efficient play.... under MDA it was harden iso and everybody else camped out on the perimeter... and everybody acted like he was some offensive guru....
    B) Imo, we dont have the personnel for some free flowing high ball movement offense.... we lost our starting pg and already have way too many turnovers.... and folks want us to do more ball movement? I mean that would be like building your offense around 3pt shooting when u dont have good shooters (again MDA's plan... lol)
    C) its not like we are getting shot clock violations or arent getting off good shots... against Portland most of the shots were wide open - and we just missed em....

As far as shot selection.... imo... Amen and Alpi shouldnt be shooting 3s.... Jabari shouldnt be dribbling... Okogie and Holiday shouldnt drive - they are there to be spot up shooters... dont feed Adams, he can survive on put backs.... there are plenty of limitations that Ime could put on guys to help our efficiency... but then u arent letting guys grow and develop.... and i think that stuff will tighten up as the season progresses... ie Alpi didnt take a single 3 in his last 3 full games... only took 1 per game in the 2 games prior... ow he took 61 in the first 22 games.... maybe i'm reading too much into it, but i think Ime is letting guys find their limitations rather than forcing them onto them...

How is Morey involved with the Pistons exactly?

You think that only the successful teams are using analytics? Almost every team in every professional sport are trying to use AI and Excel Spreadsheets to win but you win with something that AI can't quantify. Talent. And you can't spot talent using whatever dumb made up metric Klutch Sportz came up with this year.

Funny how Steph and Klay didn't need to use that stupid shot maker technology to become the two greatest shooters of all time. More tech isn't always the answer. It often just clouds the mind and gets in the way.

“Ime” is like a good high school teacher. He can educate you to a certain extent, but after that you need to go to university and take classes from professors.

I know stats, but they don't tell the entire thing, and they are based on a flawed input anyway.

I don't know what IME is doing out there, he isn't helping anything, we just watched a master class of leaning into a player who had lost his confidence, and we gave another game away to a **** TEAM.....when we were up big in the 4th.

IME is at best an average coach, he doesn't help this team at all.

Being better than SILAS is not good enough.....EVERYONE is better than Silas.

Ime leaving Jabari out had to be on purpose. I'm not sure what kind of point he is trying to make.

Ime is one of the biggest problems with this team. He isn't anywhere near a championship coach. It's tough when the coach is one of the biggest problems.

Ime better be on the hot seat if this team continues to underachieve. And yes, they are underachieving.

The Rockets are now 22-13. A year ago, they were 23-12 after 35 games. They're regressing despite the KD trade.

Joe Mazzulla, …. has a better record than Ime Van Gundy.

    •…without Jayson Tatum
•…who traded Jrue Holiday, traded Kristaps Porzingis, lost Al Horford

Doing it with “Neimas Queta”, “Jordan Walsh” and “Josh Minott”

    Pritchard, White, Brown, Hauser, Queta
    Pritchard, White, Brown, Walsh, Queta
    Pritchard, White, Brown, Minott, Queta
    Simons off the bench

We extended Ime Thibodeau for 6 more years.

Let's bring in Michael Malone. At least he might be able to bring the best out of Alpi and probably a better offensive coach
