I always thought the plan was to trade for KD the whole time, I didn't hear any rumors about any other players being traded for Jalen, just KD. I also don't think the Rockets care about fan criticism, if they did, all of this team would be traded. Most of these fans want to be Kings fans and looking forward to the draft every single year. I just don't remember Jalen rumors being any one else but KD I guess. I don't see the Rockets making like a Trae Young move where its get off the player no matter what.
JR man you were one of the ones hating him? We can't keep doing it. Fact is, if Jabari went to another team and had success half of yall in here would be saying we shouldn't have traded him away. I defended against some of the Jalen hate because most of the fans here are way too harsh on players. End of the day, this is a team 1 out from the 2nd seed virtually. They can win the next 2 games and literally be 2nd but how some of these posts read we have 10 wins right now or something. 14/6 is great for a starting 4 man in the league. Amen's defense actually hasn't regressed, no defensive metrics say so. He actually has a better shot than Simmons. Not at all fair to compare him to Simmons when Simmons couldn't even shoot a mid range shot. Reed hasn't even played a full season of NBA basketball and has no experience. Most of yall would have traded Hakeem before the rings, no one has patience. Great teams don't just pop out of nowhere, championship teams don't just go from bad to champions, this is not the NFL. There is a growth process that has to happen, failure has to happen, and players should be given a chance to react to that failure before we make these final judgements on them.
The Suns did not want Jalen, but the Rockets stood firm. From the Rockets standpoint, the Suns trade was "either take Jalen or keep KD" because they weren't including Jabari or Reed. My comment on fan criticism was re Jalen, not the Rockets. I think he was tired of it and/or his relationship with the Rockets was broken, at least it was after the series. IIRC, there were a couple of games late in the season Udoka yanked him in the 4th quarter because he refused to be aggressive on offense.

For once we agree. Reed only fans are rampant on this board. He has potential, but they act like he has proven something. Call it like it is. When he’s good then say it, when he’s bad say it. Same with any of the players. We have a bunch of talent that hasn’t figured out how to play together. The season is young, as are our players, and we will be a very tough out in the playoffs. I, for one, think we need patience and this group will figure it out.
Is this post a joke? Giannis is not a PG, Tatum is not a PG/SG and Banchero is a #1 option on his team who rebounds better than Jabari and has almost the same career stocks as Jabari. Anthony Davis plays both positions and has always played more like a PF than a center. Zion is indeed always injured but he's still better than Jabari when healthy. Markannen is inferior defensively but massively better on offense. Jabari is not a top 10 PF by any measurement, he's definitely not a top 20 forward (which matters given the fluidity between SF and PF in today's game). As many of us have said, far too many people judge Jabari on the potential of his archetype, not the actual potential he shows on the floor (let alone the actual production he brings).

I’m reopening the case and calling Jalen to trial as 3&D role player. It’s unjust, they’re all bad on ball under pressure.
He’s a career 35% shooter from 3 on high volume. Don’t take the season he’s barely played and been injured and cherry pick that. I’ll give you he’s a bad defender, but we have enough on that side of the ball to help. It’s a moot point now, but he would’ve made this team better.
