LOL Dana may turn in to a great GM But he is as far from straight forward as you can possibly get. He just randomly says shi t
He is their fall gap. If it works out that they can get someone better in a deal they like better - then they will move Sanchez. If nothing materializes, then they can run Sanchez out there. I do not like Sanchez - I find him to have the attention span and instincts of a rock -- but he can hit.
Correa was only added due to the injury to Paredes. Paredes' return makes Correa or Paredes extraneous in my opinion.
Cam may have to win his starting spot ( I'm not convinced) but I would be shocked if he does not end up with the most GS in RF this year. My opinion is that its Smith's position to lose unless someone outplays him by 20% or more. If its close it will be given to Cam and I'm not sure that's the wrong choice.
Maybe? It is also possible that both start in the outfield. Nothing is written in stone, and it will likely come down to what the player development people think in the Spring. That isn’t the only reason the Astros traded for Correa- not at all.
I wonder if players ever avoid settling to decrease their cost certainty to make themselves harder to trade.
https://fantasy.fangraphs.com/overseas-player-comps-ponce-murakami-imai-and-others/ This is an article from back in October that makes a lot of stat comps for Imai. Pretty encouraging. Median MLB ERA was 3.5.
