That's funny, I kind of know him too, since we have mutual friends from the Denton music scene. You're right, he's on FB a LOT either talking about politics or PJ. He's so good, it's hard to believe he didn't pick up with anyone else after PJ. I thought he would have been perfect for the Foos after Taylor died. They both play with the same kind of energy and drive. Seemed like the perfect fit.

Since yall are both here (had no idea you were a drummer, @jo mama, nice) and I'm here...

What do yall think about Levon? Music From Big Pink was my driving album of the day so I thought I'd ask.

STP has more than one good song?

I think I like 3 PJ songs so I’m going with them.

it’s always been my dream to karaoke Yellow Ledbetter. I have that voice impression locked down.

I would pay money to watch this. You wouldn't even need to know the words. Nobody does.

STP had a quite a few radio hits in the 90's.

    plush
    wicked garden
sin (deep cut, but my favorite tune off the first album) - love the chorus on here. and the bridge/breakdown. really well written song.

    vasoline
    interstate love song
    big empty
    big bang baby
    lady picture show
trippin on a hole in a paper heart
    sour girl

id put those 10 up against the best 10 PJ songs.

it would be funny to get up onstage with a mouthfull of taffy and try to sing...i think that would really nail the vedder-sound.

good drummers, imo, are the ones who play to the song and compliment the other musicians. i think levon qualifies.

ringo is my #1. i like drummers with feel, creativity, melody and groove over "chops" and technicality. i know people that are in prog rock/technical bands and they like playing and watching people play difficult stuff. they judge musicians by how complicated the parts they are playing are. and they will criticize musicians who play "simple" stuff. their bands also dont draw an audience and they cant figure out why nobody comes to see them.
