Good teams don’t lose to teams under 500 as consistently as the rockets have. And then to lose them in the clutch is even worse. The longer Stone waits to make a move for a point guard the worse. Trade Fred already and get it done.

Wasting a KD season is a fireable offense.

 

No offense strategy is a loss, every time. Glad we lost.

No one can shoot anymore. They missed a boatload of open 3s. There’s no offensive strategy that can fix shooting, other than making them.

KD is a big reason why our season is how its been. This is what KD teams have always looked like save for the Warriors.

Hes an absolutely insane shooter but he has more issues than people care to admit. "Get the ball to KD and get the hell out of the way" has never worked. He was an ancillary piece on the Warriors.

 

I'm not sure folks here realize NBA teams occasionally lose.


Also, NBA teams occasionally play poorly.

 

No shooting and all zone make the Rockets a dull offense.

 

Sadly this is happening more frequently.

This one was not on Ime. We got open shot after open shot. I’m as frustrated as the next guy about Ime’s lack of offensive acumen, but hit 30% of your 3’s instead of 22% we win this by double digits without our starting center.

 

Sometimes you just miss. It happens. These guys were missing by a mile - clank, clank, clank the whole night.

Perhaps…

Remember last year’s team that couldn’t shoot? They were a great defensive team.

Remember this year’s team that probably shoots among the top 3? They are not a great defensive team.

Remember this year’s team that has struggled to shoot recently? They have been, yet again, a pretty great defensive team.

Perhaps the energy on defense is impacting their 3-point shooting. And if that’s the case, IME can extend the rotation or adjust it to keep guys fresh.

 

Hard to win when the entire bench and Bari and Tari brick everything.

 

Jabari should at least rebound if he's not providing offense or defense but he was getting out hustled and out muscled by smaller forwards and guards on the boards.

 

Oh yes there is, ball movement, screens, back picks all can generate easier shots.

What’s crazy is if we could have somehow kept Dillon Brooks in the trade, this team would be instant contenders. His 3 point percentage has gone down a bit but that’s just because his usage has gone up.

Anyway, my point is we don’t have a guy that can get a bucket other than KD when the offense gets stagnant. Amen isn’t reliable with his shot, and Reed is undersized. Jabari thinks he’s something he’s not and Tari is…. well… Tari.

Maybe the answer is to wait on FVV. Either way, the offense is a mess. Yes, Sengun definitely helps but we just don’t have an identity. I wanna puke every time I see Amen or Reed dribble dribble dribble and throw it to KD 35 feet from the basket with 10 seconds left on the clock. What are we doing? We don’t have the capacity to run ANY kind of offense???
