Based on their actions, I'm convinced the current administration will not leave office when this term expires. From clicking "show ignored content" on some posters, I'm curious about their answer to the poll.
We are in a dictatorship by the mere fact Trump rules by dictate and has no meaningful checks or balances given both congress and SCOTUS are complicit. And it is objectively terrible.
IMO were in now to some extent, there is no check and balance, SCOTUS is compromised by like-minded grifters, and Congress will not stop anything the orange man wants. We now threaten other Sovereign countries, break domestic and international law and we have thugs (ICE) just like Maduro had in the streets of Venezuela roaming the streets in towns that are opposition to the current admin. This admin steals in plain view just like Maduro I think quite a few maga folks like it because they feel there on the "right" side and they don't really have to think, there told what's "Real" news and if you're not with em you're against em and you are not a real patriot If Biden did the same thing and told Venezuala were keeping the oil and Uncle Joe would be in charge of who gets paid maga would have their collective heads explode
We don’t share blood. This isn’t Ireland or Finland or Nigeria or Guatemala where our 23&Me results would connect us with culture and literal DNA. We’re a nation because of a document called the Constitution. That’s it. The minute the rule of law over man; separation of powers; and the checks and balances are gone…and they’re pretty far gone right now…then I’m not really sure what we are. I find that really disturbing because I love this country so much. I love so much what it claims to be and what I wish it was. I’d fight and die for that. This is something different. I so hope that people on both sides of the political aisle get that…and that seems to be more true today than it was a few months ago or so.
If this was any other country WE were viewing from the outside there is no way in hell it would be labeled as anything other than a corrupt strongman autocracy. -Corrupt bias Supreme Court -Invades sovereign Neigbors -Steals their natural resources -troops on the streets to intimidate opposition -pay to play governing with extreme corruption -Leader with criminal record -Leader who openly tried to overturn an election and got away with it -Compliant parliament who rubber stamps crimes -etc etc etc The only reason we can still say we might be a democracy is because apparently an election might or might not happen in 2026. I’m skeptical there is anyone who will stand in his way when he cooks up a national emergency and cancels elections this November, or just disregards the results.
Better to have American dictatorship than Chinese communist bastards dictatorship you dope. The D&D is littered with dumb F like this OP.
I think you asked the other day, something like "what have we become?" I think we're becoming our lowest common denominator. When Christianity speaks of "original sin," I do believe we're born into a somewhat feral, traditionally nasty primate state. And to accumulate power and wealth for themselves, that's what a set of people are successfully promoting in the society at large. Steven Miller saying, in sum, that might always makes right "in the real world" is a pretty clear statement of principle (or lack thereof). Nasty, brutish, and (without vax) even short. But they'll get their $ and more, I guess, and definitely they'll have a "woke" "liberal" set of enemies to keep targeting: basically anyone with an ounce of compassion or common sense will be the enemy, seems to me.
