Worth the read -- especially for liberals who have a lot to learn about incentives and business. Most liberals are either youth, unmarried women, or low income people. The common thread is none of these people carry a lot of responsibility in society or in the workplace. They simply lack the good judgement that comes from experience and responsibility. What slows construction of housing in New York is rent control/rent stabilization. They have 50,000 vacant units that are unrentable in their current condition, and no one will pay to fix them because they will lose money doing it. If they were allowed to renovate and then rent at market rate, they would start work immediately and those units would be snapped up in no time. Every building you build in New York might be frozen in time, and then become a worthless asset. It is good he is cutting regulations (sure would be nice if California did), but that isn't their main problem.
I hope he does well, I dont have a dog in the fight but it seems NY always has a shady dude for its Mayor, I hope he succeeds and doesn't become a corrupt politician
