Alpi is a Franchise lite player- but he is our best player, and we are BETTER with him leading than KD. DD
So two players should not be on the court at the same time unless one of them can shoot threes and guard the perimeter. Interesting.
Sengun diss record? @Jontro @Snow Villiers @tinman @Salvy Now it's, "As-salamu alaykum," wasn't you just eatin' bacon?
Absolutely hilarious how garbage this team is without Sengun. Almost comical how easy the other team scores in the paint when 'terrible defender' Sengun isn't in the lineup. Yet another year having to deal with utter morons wanting to trade Sengun above everyone else, who clearly can't understand what they see on the basketball court and acknowledge he is literally the last player who should be traded. Oh well. Clutchfans stupidity never ceases to amaze me.
“It is hard to deny the stats, but the Rockets have had three of their worst 3-point percentages in the last three games. The common factor in all three games was that Alperen Sengun either missed the entire game or, in the Dallas loss, played only one minute. The Rockets have been a low-volume 3-point shooting team all season, ranking 30th in attempts for most of the season, which has helped them shoot a high percentage. Since Sengun has been out for the last three games, they have averaged 38 attempts per game, which is almost 8 more than normal, andhas shot 23.7 percent. They have made only 27 3-pointers out of their last 114 attempts. Of course, it's obvious that Sengun is missed because he creates open shots and the Rockets dont have to rely just on 3-pointers, but those are some staggering numbers.”
I said it just after Christmas and I still carry the same opinion. İme had already decided to take more 3s before Sengun went down as a solution to our struggles in offense. It is not a consequence of Sengun going down. We’ll see if the low percentage is correlated with Sengun’s absence when he comes back. By the way can someone post the clutch tweet about the correlation between Sengun’s absence and low 3 pt %. I am sure he noticed that since he has a history of nailing the correlations based on a 3 game sample.
I'd say opposing defenses have decided to collapse the paint and are daring the Rockets to shoot. Ime seems to be trying different shooters trying to find a hot hand. Reed missing open shots is killing the Rockets as they don't have many alternatives.
Why do the opposing teams collapse the paint when Sengun is not playing? And our 3pt% is actually good.
The Rockets' 3-point percentage is good because their threes typically come from Reed, JSJ, Tari, and Durant with other guys mostly only taking wide open threes (Holiday excluded). I'd say other teams are collapsing the paint using a defender from a non-shooter anytime the Rockets have 2 non-shooters and/or low-volume shooters daring the non-shooters/low-volume shooters to shoot (or more difficult shots for the shooters). Increasing the volume of threes will likely lower the percentage a lot, as open Reed and Durant threes will make a lower percentage of the attempts while taking away a lot of the easy 2s. I don't think this is as much a with/without Sengun issue. Sengun helps the offense even when things get tight so I don't think it is as bad with him as without. I think moving Tari in the starting lineup was a move to help.
There is no need, Sengun is a threat to pass the ball out right as the help comes in, giving the Rockets wide open shots. If you don't double him he can make you pay on the inside. Right now, it's easy to pack the paint because Adams/Capela are not a threat to drive it in or pass it to the wide open player. Sengun in the post is super dangerous, both for his offense and his passing.
Trade Sengun!! Trade Sengun!! Trade Sengun!! It's so bloody funny seeing absolute idiots - there's no other way to describe them - for year after year after year be embarrassed by their horrid basketball takes. Maybe I shouldn't be too hard on them. Maybe they just truly don't understand what they see on the basketball court, and I can't hold that against them. It's just a shame stupid people are so vocal in their incorrect beliefs. But game after game it is hammered home how Sengun is the most important player on this team. It's so f'cking funny low IQ clowns want to trade him to try to prop up players like Jabari hahahahaha. Good lord. What's that? Ime loses yet another game to a bottom dweller? Can you even claim you're shocked at this point at his inept gameplans? Hint: no, you can't. But people will sure find a way to defend how garbage he is.
If they had any real sense they'd go ahead and delete every other "Franchise player" thread, just to save themselves further embarrassment
