I know a lot of Steelers fans. At least one of which wants the Texans to win so Tomlin will leave quietly.

I don't get that thought process, but I think there's a quiet minority that want Tomlin out.

The Steelers were the Oilers nemesis. No matter how good "luv you Blu" was, the Steelers ruined their season. Time for pay back.

Not a quiet minority... many vocal Steelers fans especially old heads. Are they crazy? you bet... but this is has been out in the open for awhile

5, 6 and 7 in the AFC are not your typical Wild cards, they can all win far away from home against their match up this year.
I see our game and the NE game being grind it out games.
Jags vs Bills more like a you score, I score event.

    Texans defeat Steelers
20 to 16. Victory formation at the 50 yard line.

That minority of Steelers fans isn't very quiet.

I'm also not certain they are actually in the minority.

Oilers made it easy for the Steelers to defend them in the 1978 AFC Championship game. It wasn't too hard when you kept running Earl into the middle of a 9 man front over and over again.

The next year, in the 1979 AFC Championship game, both Earl Campbell and Ken Burrough were out due to injuries. Dan Pastorini still feels the pain after 46 years:

Almost like having a good run game is kind of ideal.

This also to me says... throw more on first down as a Texans fan. Make it easier on Stroud who is elite on 3rd and long situations.

We were the 2nd best team in the league in 78 and 79. Just so happened that the 1st best team in the league was also in our division.

A Houston NFL team hasn't made it to the AFC Championship Game in 46 years. 46 years ago today, actually.

I definitely don't agree with this. I feel like one of the biggest complaints last season was how many 3rd and longs our offense had to deal with. CJ may be better than most QBs at converting in those situations, but it still is a losing proposition most of the time. I actually like the run/pass balance they have had lately.

Here's hoping Caley has been "saving" some wrinkles.

Congratulations on your franchise's first road playoff victory.

This message will self-destruct before kickoff for anti-jinx purposes.

Since this is primarily a basketball forum, let me put it into NBA terms: he’s the Doc Rivers of football.

    Good but vastly overrated.

Oh no way, that’s completely absurd. He’s been the coach there for like 20 years and he’s never once had a losing season. Do you know how ridiculously difficult that is? He’s had some trash/injured/backup QBs along the way too.

    You can’t be serious…

He had a HOF quarterback (and one of the most durable to ever do it) for the majority of his career.

Both coaches won one championship a very long time ago and have largely underachieved ever since. Doc has blown multiple 3-1 series leads (most in NBA history) and Tomlin has BAD playoff losses against the likes of Tim Tebow, Blake Bortles, and the Browns — all games the Steelers were heavily favored.

Both coaches have the same appeal: good enough to always be in the playoff discussion, but never even close to good enough to win a championship. The type of stuff that ownership loves and fans hate.

Both coaches are elite culture setters that players love, they’re guaranteed to never lose the locker room, they almost never have losing seasons, and they almost always flop in the playoffs. But as far as reputation goes, both are considered elite player coaches.

Doc has coached for like 25 years with only three [full] losing seasons under his belt. That’s just as impressive as Tomlin’s streak of 9-8 quality “winning” seasons.

Like it or not, there’s a ton of similarities. So, yeah, I don’t know what you’re talking about.

We released #38. Back to Bryant I suppose. Luckily there are 4 swarmy Safeties that will be there in the 2nd or 3rd round.

I guess Texans coaches agreed with this. Hopefully this means good news on Jaylen Reed because I do not want Myles Bryant getting snaps.

Nah. Doc Rivers NFL counter part would be Jeff Fischer or something like that. Tomlin just hasn’t been able to get a QB worth a darn since Ben retired.
