You could have included James Harden to the second group. The first group all played with someone who didn't need a facilitator to win championships.
He can run a damn pick and roll. Considering our very limited offense, running an effective pick and roll would be a welcome addition to this offense.
Can he? Yes with Alpi - I guess....but not with anyone on the court now. 1.KD is soft, doesn't hold his position and doesn't roll. 2. Adams has bricks for hands. 3. Amen - could possibly roll, but hasn't 4. Jabari - stands in the corner 5. Tari - Not the brightest bulb or finisher We don't roll. DD
Reed isn't on your list. And I'm glad because I think he could be the roll guy. All that said, you are right about KD being a finisher, and he isn't a facilitator, at least not a good one. Being as good as we are, and I like where we are, we could be soooooo much better if the coaching staff could actually create some plays for the team. When things are tight. Not saying we go totally away from read and react. Just saying can we get 70% r&r and 30% set plays? Maybe we are and I just don't know what I'm looking at but....
When Sengun got hurt 2 seasons ago, I know March Jalen Green stole all the headlines. The FVV-Amen PnR was a thing of beauty at that time on the undercard. Granted, it is just something that has disappeared from the Rockets. I suspect it is mostly because Sengun and Adams are better screeners, their men will clog the lane if they aren't in the action, and teams just weren't ready for Amen.
That's why what they should actually do is run a PnR with Sengun and Amen but rotate which of them is the ball carrier and which is setting the screen. Sengun on the roll kills you with his finesse, Amen's the ultimate lob threat for the best passer on the team, like KJ with more talent and maybe a less weird father, I'm not sure on that last one Amen and Ausar's name **** with the xlnc is weird **** too tbh lol.
Amen can learn to be a better screener. He just needs to be decent and get the rolling timing down. Since Amen can't shoot from outside, his man will clog the lane as well. I am curious about PnR with Jabari and Durant. Those guys have the option of rolling or popping.
This has been happening more frequently lately. Amen has usually been punishing teams for it, but sometimes his teammates struggle. Tari being added to the starting lineup has provided a boost, but I am still wondering if this is just a hot streak for Tari. Amen and Sengun are so good they usually make it work.
Ime is screwing it up by making KD such a focus, he should just be one of the guys, who you go to at the end, the reason we are losing to crappy teams is that everyone KNOWS we are going to KD at the top of the circle, every time down the floor - it hurts Reed, it hurts Amen, it hurts Alpi - all of them should ignore him if they are focusing on him and go do their own thing with the rest of the team. We should be leaning away from KD, so we can use him late in the clock when everything else isn't working, we need all of our guys to be attacking, and taking advantage of KD's gravity until they don't do that and then we add it back in as an option. We are too predictable.....and our guys are deferring to KD - and that is a recipe for losing more than we should. DD
Favorite movie of all time. The way Walter says, "It's a league night," to justify pulling a gun on Smoky gets me every time.
Am in a bowling league on Tuesday night and we are in it for fun, but some of those teams are insanely into it....we just like hte shirts and the drinking. DD
I know the real world is different, but my pick n pop 2 man game on 2k has Jabari our #2 scorer besides KD both averaging over 30 a game lmao
