NATO ministers are now talking amongst themselves about NATO defending Greenland against the US given Trump's renewed agressive rhetoric surrounding the territory. I can't say Trump starting a US war against NATO and the EU was remotely something I thought I'd ever have to think about. But apparently serious people in Europe are now thinking about that very posibility. So that's another nice secondary effect here that I'm sure totally makes America safer. Anyway, nobody's talking about Trump's violation of the law requiring release of the Epstein files or his prominent placement therein anymore, so I guess mission accomplished!
I'm in Denmark right now and its terrifying watching the public react. Everyone here thinks Trump will annex Greenland and all the TV stations are fear mongering. You even had a documentary be shown talking about the nazi occupation in Denmark the other day. Everyone here is freaking out.

The fact that he wasn't tells us something pretty big here: The military brass refused to do this mission if it was illegal... which it clearly was on its face. The emphasis Kegsbreth kept on making about this being a law enforcement mission is important (and my jaw hit the floor when Trump gave up the game and just admitted the true intent). FBI & DEA officials being part of the raid is important. Again.. I'm pretty sure Kegsbreath and Trump just get all of his strategy from the movie Sicario. The reason he wasn't killed on site, or sent to Gitmo seems pretty clear after looking at things in context. The military must have stood up at some point and said, this will be illegal, and the lawyers stepped in and found a legal loophole rationale they could not disobey. After the military did their bidding under false pretense, and Trump rubbed it in their faces, you have to wonder if General Raising Canes or whatever his name is, and the other military leaders who were lied to and used here will think twice next time about being pawns in Trump's illegal schemes.
As I noted earlier, I think the movie Sicario is a better template for their strategy they are inspired by. Also I wanted that Jack Ryan show to be good, but I could not keep interest to save my life. Not sure how many diet cokes Trump has to drink first to stay awake for that one.
