FVV is ~ 38% 3 point shooter over the last year. As long as he's not the primary playmaker taking contested off the dribble threes, he's a highly accurate, high volume shooter.

Defense is more a concern than shooting if he's healthy, IMO. FVV is a great defender (does a lot of things well even if length, size limits him some even if not a great POA defender), but the guys FVV guards well are also the guys one would want to put Reed on. Rockets had issues at times with FVV, Green, and Amen as it made switching more difficult.

Need to start Fred even if he is not 100%. KD and Reed are only true shooters we got and at this point of their career cannot comfortably create offense by them selves so kinda wasting effort to put both in at same time since Sengun will be getting half of the plays. I’m one of the biggest Reed believer but Reed off the bench this offseason will be much more beneficial for him and the team.

I hope they're not taking those odds to Vegas.

Man…75% of FVV sounds like risky business. His handle on the ball and the game are sorely missed. Still, if he were able to come steady ships for 10-15 in the playoffs that would be so hugely beneficial.

Yup. I’d be worried about his defense after that injury.

I am at least glad to get the update. I do expect a more locally based article over the next few weeks that may give us some insight into the organization thought process. Do we keep him or do we go ahead and try to pull the trigger on a trade?

I would say the actual odds of him being back by late April are about 20%. And he certainly would not be 100% healthy. I don’t think that would matter offensively, but could present issue on the defensive side of the ball.

if I knew that he would be ready for the last few regular season games in the playoffs even it is slightly diminished capacity. I would probably roll the dice on keeping him.

but since I don’t know that, I want to go ahead and use the cap room to upgrade and hope that he will just accept a trade wherever. We have treated him well.

More is better than less, and he is more, adds depth, but never forget that he was a shell of his former self for much of the season and most of the playoffs. That is not likely to magically change. We have shooters now. He has to create shots and break pressure.

I wouldn't expect anything more than 15MPG in the playoffs.

20 mpg in the playoffs might be all we need.

If even the player himself is like, maybe but probably not, then the answer is no, he won't be back.
