We're starting to call Reed's number more and more. Pessimist might say it was just bc Durant was out, but if nothing else, this means we are definitely practicing plays specific for Reed, to nurture and exploit his gravity. Here's the the trap play, which was spamming the same play, twice in a row, in crunch time. I'll post some more from earlier in the game and Phx.
I wonder if Reeds success will spell doom for Sengun. And don’t you ever apologize for that beautiful dog
From Denver game ... even when we're thinking Coach isn't using Reed in 2nd half, this plays is still a good window into what they are practicing, which is evidence wanting to exploit both Amen and Reed's gravity
@heypartner most of the BBS has said that they don’t even coach or talk about offense? Knowing all of that, how are these variables possible?
That play is the video in the opening post of this thread. Since there was so much interest in it, I wanting to show that we ran the same play the possession prior, for a Reed middie, thus the aggressive response by GSW. imo, Sengun has a keeper there, ie fake DHO.
Coach draws up a Curry-esque play for Reed for the 1st play of the game. Definite sign of what we're emphasizing in practice. I've previously used YT for longer vids...compilations type stuff. Do you think I should just do shorts of single plays? I'm addicted to shorts, but they must be vertical (or square), and I don't know how to turn basketball into a video that YT will allow as a short. here's the YT of this play
I think you should cross post all of your content to yt, Instagram, X and Facebook. Maybe TikTok. Not much of a lift
I'd just take every play you break down in a single game and combine them into a video, give it a title like "Reed Sheppard breakout game vs GSW: A Breakdown".
A wall set for Reed as inbounder …. We’ll see this play again when we need a three at end of game, don’t you thin? yt version
I’ve been looking for this play all season. We finally do it January 1st. Exit screen for Durant and Reed by Sengun I’ll post a YouTube version later [edit] see new version in following post
@heypartner Great work, HP. What do you think of Ime's offensive in general? I am willing to believe there is more to the offense than many of us are seeing. It does however appear to be heavy ISO ball with a your turn, my term philosophy between ALP, KD, and Amen. Last night's game, with ALP out and with KD off the court, showed how little else the team has to rely on in terms of getting quality shots. Am I missing something? I have been waiting for the integration of a more complex offense Ime mentioned in the past. Your post does show new plays, but seems structured actions are not happening with consistency.
I re-did the Exit Series video to include what recently happened between PHI and NYK to demonstrate combining Exit Series with PNR. @Mathloom and @Thrilla haven't forgotten you guys. I'm not generally interested in making vids with a narrative of critique analyzing success. View me more as a wanna-be scout -- ie doing objective cataloguing only, for fun, for general knowledge, and to share. Narratives take the fun out of it for me. But, yeah, I can give a short description of the offense wrt my thoughts on why we do what we do. I'll post a vid of a few plays to help with lingo, then maybe add some freq%. But overall, in season, I just want to catalogue for the playoffs. So for the playoffs, we know what we got, have practiced, and can use, but do we and have we improved through the season.
Excellent, thank you for making all of these. Makes watching the games even more fun. Fair enough on the narratives taking the fun out of it for you. We definitely need a little more Warriors in our picks. When Philly is running it their picks are neat and solid. It's really illuminating the importance of processing time. Guys like Harden/Doncic/Lebron are born with this ability to make the right choice so frequently. More experienced players (like Maxey) must have been through so many iterations of things by now that they just get it. I can see Ime trying to do things but at the end of the day, our guys are young and that split second later decision or that slightly messier screen makes a difference. As you said hopefully they continue to improve on these things as we approach the playoffs. I imagine set plays are a lot easier for Reed and Amen to navigate because rather than relying purely on processing they kind of know what their 3 or 4 or whatever options are.
