You know nothing about me obviously. No, I wasn't a grunt, and didn't join to be a battlefield warrior, or soldier to fight in armed combat. But, my role as an air traffic controller was essential for navigating the military's largest fleet of aircraft, which is the USN. How many years did you serve? Do you know anything about the mental and psychological requirements that must be met to work in air traffic control? Our medical standards were just like those of pilots, and our annual flight physicals were intense. You can't do that job if you can't work under intense pressure. That's a fact. At any time you can be grounded, and removed from duty. I've seen plenty of service members in Air Traffic Control told to choose another rating if they wanted to stay in the military. By the way, I wasn't partisan in politics while serving. I never talked politics, and didn't bash any of my Commanders in Chief or any of the political parties when I served, and wasn't insubordinate to my superiors. I was a team player, which was absolutely critical to our mission of the safety of flights. and coordination in the control tower and radar room. I take offense in you saying someone like me is why someone like Pete Hegseth had to be appointed to gut the existing DEI system. Like I said, it's generalizations like that which discredit women like me, who, as air traffic controllers are essential to guiding pilots on their mission. If you think anybody can be an air traffic controller, and they can just throw in DEI hires to do the job you don't know anything about Air Traffic Control at all. I could have made a lot more money doing that job outside of the military instead of serving for 20 years. I chose to serve. Just because I think Trump is a pathological liar, grifter, and con doesn't make me unstable. I don't trust him. I never will. I can't trust a man who lies all the time. I honestly believe he wants to rip away Democracy and rule like an Authoritarian/Dictator. That's what I'm against.

We'll see how those numbers change as Republicans are drinking from a firehouse of propaganda and will likely fall in line in the next week or so. Venezuelans aren't just a bunch of automatons that do what they are told. Like humans everywhere, there are smart people and crazy people and factions and ethnic groups. You don't just have an outside force pick a leader and invite a bunch of corporate types in to do as they please. The lack of planning for what comes next and the varied justifications for it all will quickly sow consequences. This book has some problems, but is still a good read about how dumb, ahistorical, fantasy-driven people can really screw things up and make bad situations worse. In a sense, it's a book about unserious people giddy with power and who have now turned to governing by meme and tweet. This is your reminder that Venezuela is 33% larger than Iraq, has more people than Iraq did when we invaded in 2003, has a coastline that is the equivalent of Boston to Miami, and along with other countries in this hemisphere, have a history with American hegemony. That Iraq deal only costs us blood and treasure to the tune of 4,431 deaths and $2.36 trillion. Finally, Trump is the first post WWII president to bomb seven countries in one year. Yay.
