we still turn it over 16 times a game, but we are almost in the top ten. when all the new faces get used to eachother we could cut that down by a few per game. should be a good season
This is old news. I made a whole thread about trading away our TOs about 2 months ago. Will the b****es that were b****ing at me then please stand up....
You know that means we are 11th team with the MOST TOs. You say we traded away our TOs, but our TOs are about the same. 03-04 16.7 04-05 16.3 But like Smoothie said, we should be able to cut those down once we get more comfortable, I hope.
We were tied for 29TH in TOs last year. I don't care if its 11th best or 11th worst, at least we are not dead last anymore. Game 1: 16 Turnovers Game 2: 15 Game 3: 19 Game 4: 9 Game 5: 24 Game 6: 14 Game 7: 13 Game 8: 12 We obviously have problems with the Memphis defense, in games 3 and 5. If you ignore those 2 games, do you see a trend? You'll find that its a very nice trend.
Just because we aren't dead last anymore, that doesn't mean it is any better. It just means that other teams got worst. But I do like seeing those TO numbers going down with every game played.
"Better" is hard to assses this early in the season. But if you think that McGrady/Ward/Lue are more TO prone than Francis. Well, I don't know what to tell you. That's 120 less TO just from ONE player that we traded away. It's not that we wont have some bad TO games this year. It's that those *bad games* will be less often than last season. And that's how our average will improve. If there any indication, it's the fact that when we have all our starters on the floor, the game seems to be in control most of the time. I don't feel that we are out of any game. Last year, even a 12 point lead wouldn't have felt safe.
When did I say TMac and crew are more TO prone than Francis? I'm just stating the fact that we haven't improved our TO category. I'm not saying we won't, but we haven't yet.
Okay...like 5 of those are offensive fouls.. One or two may be Jimmy travelling.. Or 3 second in the key violations.. Then a couple steals by errant passes.. yeah We should reduce those. GET AD AND RAD!
22 min, 2 rebound. It is incredible for a 7'6" guy. Yao needs more work on his rebound. It is fair to complain about the unfair ref on offense end, but there is no excuse on defense. Hopefully, there is no injury involved in the poor performance. I am wondering why Nets got some many offensive rebounds. It seems like a planned theme, in which other rockets collapsed in the paint to help Yao with rebounding. Unfortunately, this time all of them were in the paint, and left the long rebounds to Nets.
I think that Membpis led the league in creating turnovers last year. Also, I think that we have had fewer turnovers than our opponent in almost every game this year.
You know, you b**** more about people b****ing than people who b**** about problems on the team. Why don't you ease up and try and prove your points with just stats instead of calling people b****es, it's getting freaking annoying, and I hardly even read the GARM anymore.
First of all, it is physically impossible to b**** more than people who b**** about our team. They are like vermin scattered throughout every corner of our BBS. At worst, i just provided a little balance and sensibility to the discussions. As for me proving my points with stats, maybe you should stick around the GARM alittle more before you talk. http://bbs2.clutchfans.net/showthread.php?s=&threadid=85245 Oh, or maybe a few posts up, where i show our declining TOs with, by golly!, Stats. Didn't want to go off, but you could have accused me of anthing but not proving my points with stats. I am probably one of the biggest stat junkies on this board. Taking multi-variable calculus at 10th grade will do that to you.
It seems like we're a more efficient team offensively. Kinda boring, but that's OK. I'd rather have a boring team that plays smart instead of a "exciting team" that plays dumb. The turnovers seem to be just from a lack of concentration or maybe just getting used to new teammates. That can be corrected. Last year, we just played stupid a majority of the time, like trying alley-oops that weren't there or dribbling out the clock. I like what I see.
well what I meant is that we don't see alot of alleyoop attempts to Cato or dribbling between the legs, etc. I didn't mean exciting in a good way. I was kinda being sarcastic cuz we basically played on the whim. This year is more exciting in the sense that it is more fundamentally sound and of course TMac, who makes the game look so easy.
