I do not believe billionaires such as David Sacks, Bill Ackman, Chamath Palihapitiya, Elon Musk, Peter Thiel, Joe Lonsdale, Palmer Luckey, etc are becoming politically outspoken in order to "be cool". If anything, this move hurts them socially. They have become outspoken conservatives because they view modern liberal policies as being total failures (which they are). They have become outspoken conservatives because they detest fraud and abuse (Democrats). They have become outspoken conservatives because they do not like being lied to (Russian collusion, COVID, 2020 election fraud, climate change fairy tales, Biden's health, etc). They have become outspoken conservatives because they believe in free enterprise, in the value of incentives and meritocracy, they detest racial discrimination (affirmative action), they believe taxing more and spending more is not the answer, they think the Democrats inflation (tax & spend induced) is harmful to the lower classes, and they believe in basic science/biology in that men cannot give birth. And finally, they have become outspoken conservatives because they do not like war (Democrats are now the warmongers after Trump wrestled control of the Republican party away from Bush-Cheney).
