Has a single person on here actually said he’s not a star? I’ve never seen it, who said that? Pretty insane.
They didn't, he said that KD was no longer a SUPERSTAR, not no longer a star. Which is a more than valid point.
Averaging 50/40/90 isnt a superstar? KD is also one of the league leaders in defensive FG%. The only way KD isnt a superstar is if the only superstars are the MVP favorites aka Jokic and SGA.
What if he was averaging 49/39/89? A superstar is someone you can make a reasonable argument is a top 3 player in the league and a legit MVP candidate. KD is 13th in EPM, 11th in win shares, 23rd in BPM, 25th in VORP. There is simply nothing to suggest he's a superstar at this point in time. His PER for example is 20.7. The last time is was this low he was 19. He is REMARKABLE (him and curry) for his age. When he was at his peak, his ws/48 were near 0.300, now he hasn't crossed .200 since he was 32. His BPM peaked at 10 (which is true high end MVP level), now he's below 4. If you look at his peak, he was taking around 22% of his shots at the rim, which is amazing rim pressure. Now it's 6.5%, because he's super old and can't get to the rim. He is still an allstar level guy and a case could be made he's still a 3rd team all nba player, but the gap between that and a superstar is MASSIVE.
If you think there are only 3 superstars in the league ok he isnt a superstar. Most people think there are more than 3.
Rockets offense looks amateur. Just 1on1. Honestly, cliche in Europe is that NBA game is simplistic, rudimentary and boring. And it is hard to argue against that if you watch this Rockets offense. There is absolutely nothing elaborated. 1on1 basketball. Some selected p&r's. Sometimes a pindown or off the ball screen for Sheppard or Bari. If Alpi is on the court, some balls to the low post. But nothing elaborated. Udoka is extremely lucky for the players he has.
Currently I would say there are 4. Generally in the nba there are usually between 3-6 i would say, usually 4-5.
