CJ is good, not great, he is not a guy that reads defenses well and audibles, but given time he is accurate.

Not a generational guy just another dude.

Caleb has an elite OL/weapons/ run game and the best OC in football.

He also is statistically one of the most inaccurate passers in football, is awful in 3rd and long situations, and one of the highest in time to throw which was the biggest argument against CJ in the board.

Context matters so much. You all would be calling for Caleb’s head if he were a Texan right now and that’s not even debatable.

It must be so depressing to be a perpetual ‘grass is greener elsewhere’ or ‘the game is rigged against us’ fan. I really don’t know why they keep following sports - it cannot possibly be a source of joy.

It's just picking up the 5th year....not like they'll sign him to an extension.

as much as I hate this statement, at this point its accurate.....................CJ is dam good, better the Bryce and quite a few others, but better then guys like Josh Allen or Joe Burrows and now Caleb Williams (who I hate but can't tell you why)...........I think he has that extra gear, and IMO he is going to have a breakout game at some point, but the results show he is a second tier QB who will end up being overpaid, not to the extent that Tua is killing the Fins with his cap hit. I am a CJ fan, but let's be honest, I am not sure if it's the talent around him, the crappy scheme he plays in but dam I would love to see him in a Chargers scheme with the right players around him. I fear Casserio and Ryans have stunted the offense in favor of the D and that will be the nail in our coffin for 2025

Caleb was historically bad last year. Not to mention he’s been a little better this year but the talk was Washington got the right qb and also pats got the best qb in the draft. Caleb could very well be 4th in that class

I recall all the hype for Bryce Young. Nevertheless sub 6’0” QB have a Mount Everest level climb just to be average. And for that reason I was out on him!

Heck I didn’t want Stroud because of his supposedly horrid Wonderlic scores. But the Texans ownership wanted a QB bad. I was satisfied giving David Mills another year or 2.

My number one pick was Will Anderson. And he’s proven he was worthy of the number 1 pick.

Getting Stroud and Anderson back to back was insane!!!! Stroud is a legit NFL QB, might not be a HOF level guy, but he has the pedigree to QB a team into the Superbowl or 2 or 3…

No, he's 11th in QBR which is a BS ESPN made metric. The real QB rating metric has him 16th... a metric that had him 6th his rookie season.

Neither are franchise caliber QB's right now.

Both QBR and QB Rating are made up metrics. One is not better than the other.

One is definitely better than the other given that one is proprietary... meaning the formula is secret and has bullshit like "clutch factor" built in and the other is a more standard upfront metric.

One is dramatically more legitimate than the other.

Except that stuff matters. You think a 7 yd completion on 3rd and 10 matters more than a 5 yd completion on 3rd and 4?

Stroud being higher on QBR tells me he plays slightly better when the game is on the line in critical moments and does far less stat padding than other QBs might.

It's the Sports Bible for keyboard GMs to sit at the table to talk sports with the OGs.. Some are needed , others are ridiculous that don't mean a damn thing but to start arguments..

The problem isn’t what QBR is trying to measure; it’s that we don’t know how it’s measured. With clutch plays, win probability, and contextual weighting built in but hidden, you’re basically being told “just trust me, bro. This stat is legit.” It is the same reason people dump on PFF grades.
