This is a good deal. No Roku app though. Looks like it's available on Fire TV, iOS, Apple TV (device) and Android. https://sports.yahoo.com/articles/space-city-home-network-adds-203606980.html Does anyone who has the app know if you can Cast the stream to smart TVs?
I'll probably try it out for tonight's game... I'll let you know if it can be streamed cuz I have a Samsung tv.... UPDATE Just got it, you can stream to chromecast.....
Question, it appears you cannot replay games without “connecting TV provider.” I bought the app so I wouldn’t need to have a Fubo/DirectTV etc. BS service. Also you can’t restart a live game from the beginning. Can anyone confirm that you can’t replay or restart if you just have the app? Seems ridiculous to pay $20/month and not have those features.
I mentioned this in the thread when it first launched: I do know you do not have access to games after they're over (dvr style). I'm not even sure you can pause/rewind (I remember when Apple first started with their baseball coverage you couldn't, which was ridiculous, but they fixed that not long after) The more subscribers flood them with complaints the faster that might get fixed? https://bbs.clutchfans.net/threads/schn-finally-affordable-to-watch-the-rockets-astros.327783/
There's a large thread about this in GARM. There is no DVR/VOD feature from what I recall. Last I thought I heard they replay games at some point, but you can't just go watch a game whenever you want, which sucks because I like to watch games later at night sometimes. Their website has answers to some of the other stuff, like : no, you can't pause, rewind, restart any live broadcast.
$20/month sounds a little high with it just being Rockets and Astros games. Will it also cover the playoffs?
Correct, due to so many games in the first few playoff games are broadcast by the local network, and often also nationally. Here’s Game 2 last year … scroll down to Where to Watch section listing TNT plus Hou and gsw RSNs https://www.espn.com/nba/game/_/gameId/401767909/warriors-rockets With the new streaming contracts, they might not do this this year. Would be a good question to ask Vanessa, if I ever meet her.
I just started using the app on a fire TV. Has anyone been able to get rid of the toolbar on the left during the live broadcast?
I don't normally because getting cable is expensive. I would normally just get youtubeTV or something similar when the playoffs roll around. So if this won't have the playoffs, I probably won't get it. We don't watch a lot of TV in our house.
Yes, you have to click on the actual live feed on the right and then you will get presented with an option to make it full screen. Once you select that then the toolbar on the left will disappear.
I'm considering. How is SCHN+ about fast forwarding during live broadcasts? Key question, can you see the video when you FF or does it just freeze the picture and just shows you the time bar? I typically record all games and then start watching about 1hr after it starts and skip all the commercials and half time. By the end, I'm caught up. It only takes about 1hr to watch a full game. In the TMI category, my Tivo just died and I'm very sad. I now using the Xfinity DVR and it blows. The Tivo UI, remote, and DVR were the best especially for sports. If SCHN+ can remotely replace Xfinity, I'm gonna switch to ATT fiber internet and subscribe to SCHN+. Right now, I'm paying $240/mo for Xfinity TV/internet. It's robbery.
