Would you rather have Jabari or Mobley in 2026-2030?

I also think Chet is the best of the bunch. The only thing about Chet is injury risk.

Mobley IMO is a better overall player than both Duren and Smith after his 3pt shooting has improved to respectable level. His offense has taken a leap and is better than Duren. I think CFers tend to underrate Mobley. His issue is his motor. Does he have the competitive fire as the second best player on a contender?

Duren also takes a leap this season. Interestingly, both of those guys took leap in their fourth season. Jabari has also improved this season but not a huge leap. If he does, we'll be a legit contender.

I wonder what kind of contract Duren is going to get.

 

It doesnt matter as being overpaid the team they are on lack the money to make a good team. Cavs are a good example of this when Mobley was on a rookie scale they were pretty good.

Now they are paying Mobley his money so they lost Okoro and Ty Jerome suddenly they suck now.

 

Mobleys issue is his contract. He has turned into a very good player. If they all made the same money:

1. Duren (Dwight 2.0)
2. Mobley
3. Jabari

Given their contracts IMO:
1. Jabari
2. Duren
3. Mobley

Chet has insane injury risk I wouldnt him at all no matter how good he looks. He already 2 major season injuries in just 4 yrs of play lol.

 

Contracts used to be not a huge problem if the owner is willing to pay. You could have two max contracts and still be able to field a pretty deep team. With the apron rules, it's getting hard to get high quality role players if you have two guys paid like superstars.

OKC is going to face some difficult choices now that their young guys are graduating from their rookie contracts.

Chet is too indecisive at times, that made him Wemby's biatch......Wemby bullying him and living inside his head rent free is not going to work.

He has to grow a pair and take it to Wemby and shove it up his French behind...... Wemby is pretty strong mentally but can be had ....

But no question, I think Chet can become Durant 2.0, I think he has more offensive potential and skills than Wemby but Wemby is more impactful on Defense though.

 

Duren is a huge reason Detroit is the best team in the East. He should be an All Star this year. He's been a better player than Evan this year and just does his job better. I think Mobley is the KAT of defense. Incredibly overrated and doesnt do anything particularly elite. People think he's like Bam Adebayo or something and he isnt. In a re-draft he would go behind Cade, Sengun and Barnes.

I would take Franz over him as well as Franz doesnt handicap my team construction. Chet or Jabari are usable tools that can be parked anywhere on offense and defense. Mobley is a great help defender but not much good at anything else and he's a 65% FT shooter. He really isnt good but there are media members that are sticking to their guns about rating him highly early on.

He isn't a piece you build around. He's just a guy. And now he's a guy with an untradable contract.

 

Considering all things, Performance, IQ, Health, etc. who do you build around if given the opportunity?

I’d take Corey Kispert over any of these guys. 40% from 3, great attitude, elite versatile defender.

Victor Wembanyama is probably better in a vacuum but if you consider Corey’s 13.5 mil salary vs a rookie max it’s easier to build a team around.

I'd much rather have Jabari, I think Mobley is super overrated and even if they were at the same salary I would probably still take Jabari. But especially considering his contract, I'll take Jabari and it's not close.
