He's a plus defense forward who is killer in transition and pseudo transition but otherwise should be off ball either in the dunker's spot or waiting to cut to the rim if he's ignored in the corner.

yeah he's 3s and jumpers are bad at least he's not shooting us out of games
he's shooting close to 80% from the FT line so that gives me hope
it's prolly because of his new role as PG I believe he will continue to work hard on his shots jsut like other aspects of his game and improve to a decent level

So why does Ime not start Reed as PG and move Amen to SF? Is it because Ime thinks Reed is not ready yet?
So question is not how many games we are goin to give Amen at PG but how many games Ime thinks Reed needs to be ready start or after how many games will Stone trade for or acquire a legit PG

Because Amen is not going anywhere he's as untouchable as Alpi both are cornerstones
He'll still be 3rd in minutes played among all players
He will still be one of just 11 players averaging more than 5 assists and shotting at 50% FG%
and of those 11 players he's 3rd in BPM behind SGA and Joker and ahead of Alpi and Freak
    https://www.nba.com/stats/players/t...5:FG_PCT*GE*50&PerMode=PerGame&dir=A&sort=MIN

And in the playoffs he and Alpi will again step up and fight and not crumble and disappear

I take "point guard" in this context of Amen as the primary playmaker. I'm not sure what develop at the SF position means?

I don't see Amen as a primary playmaker without a big leap in shooting but he can be a solid playmaker.

So, I think if we start Reed we suffer defensively. If we start Okogie/Tari, we suffer offensively. There's no way to have our cake and eat it too, so we have the make a choice. By my estimation, I think we are choosing between:

    1) With Reed: #1 Offense (and top 6 in TS%), #9 Defense
    2) With Tari/Okogie: #9 Offense, #1 Defense

I'm a firm believer there's no difference between offense and defense so I'm indifferent to these two options EXCEPT I believe the first option can be improved through in-season experience but in the second option we're at a ceiling. I think we'll get better at hiding and using Reed. Amen being able to slide over for steals and blocks again since he's not chasing small guards around is something people don't realize was helping Sengun's rim protection (along with Brooks and FVV's aggressive angles designed to protect Sengun).

I want Reed on the floor because to cover for the fact that we don't have a perfect primary playmaker, I want to raise the overall average ability of the starting lineup to make plays. With Reed at 1, Amen at 2/3, Durant at 4 and Sengun at 5 a democratized offense works. The pace will be up too. On every night, we will find a position at which one of our 4 playmakers are being guarded by a moron who doesn't know how to pressure without fouling or gambling. I would still say that Sengun (with Amen or Reed bringing the ball up) should be our primary option and imo should take fewer shots. After that, I don't care. Go with the best matchup. Whether drive and dish (Amen), set up guy (Reed), high/mid post (Sengun) or iso (Durant) I'm sure something will work each night. By the end of the season, who knows maybe Amen or Reed improve enough that we can centralize a bit more since that's more stable and safe.
