Have you watched Frasier yet? I watched the premier the other night for the first time in years and have to say, It was still hilarious to me. Kelsey Grammer is one of TV's GOATs.
No - I got busy with house issues and holidays and haven't had a chance. Then, of course, I forgot. lol. I'll definitely watch at least a few episodes in the next couple of weeks.
Houston Wrestling Gunsmoke Have Gun Will Travel Laredo Three's Company Mash Lavern & Shirley All in the Family The Jeffersons The Andy Griffith Show Magnum PI Hill Street Blues NCIS Game of Thrones Justified
Ok, I managed to watch an episode last night. I forgot about how, I guess, all the episodes are broken into chapters with titles on-screen. That was kind of neat. The punchlines, insults, etc. were constant and rapid-fire in that first episode. The one that had me rolling probably within the first minute or so was when Frasier takes a call and he says "my wife left me 6 months ago, and that was very painful... then she came back to me, which was excruciating". LOL. The dad in some ways reminds me of Hank Hill's dad, Cotton on King of the Hill, in terms of being grouchy. The phone call into the show near the end of the episode where he calls in to say "thank you" because he couldn't do it in person was funny. Roz has a weird sexy about her. I remember reading once that that role was supposed to go to Lisa Kudrow, and they were already filming the show when they decided she wasn't a fit. Speaking of which, I may need to try out Friends in the future, since I never really watched that except for maybe parts of a couple of episodes. Just didn't seem like my kind of show.
Friends is my nightly go to around 10pm, it`s one of my favorites and its 30 years old and I never watched it when it was on.......to watch it and know that Mathew Perry is gone makes me sad
Yes, that joke that landed with me too! I forgot to mention that many of the callers on Frasier's radio show are real-life celebrities. Frasier's dad was quite a bit like Cotton that episode. I'm not sure if it was nervousness on the actor's part or the writing, but he actually becomes quite a bit funnier. (Same for Roz.) I was like you with Friends. I watched a minute or two here and there but couldn't get into it. It wasn't until it hit syndication and there was nothing better on that I finally managed to get into it.
