Your post ignores the frequency of Somali fraud -- it's off the charts. Many have never seen anything like it. It's pervasive throughout their culture. Billions stolen from American taxpayers and you are trying to minimize their crimes.

When people from "low trust societies" come into the United States, and mix with "high trust communities", the low-trust people tend to abuse it. And that's exactly why so many are concerned... and why people want to preserve the values associated with Western civilization. They see what's happening in so many European countries, as well as in places like Minnesota, California, New York, etc... and they see a degradation of values. This is our time to put a stop to it. Democrats enable it -- but Republicans can put an end to the fraud and abuse perpetrated on us by these low-trust society immigrants (many of whom are illegal).

    GOOD DAY

78 people of Somali descent have been charged in the Minnesota fraud probes. There are roughly 62,000 Somalis living in Minnesota, meaning about 0.13% of the Somali population has been charged. That is not pervasive.

By comparison, 48 medical professionals in Texas were charged with healthcare fraud earlier this year out of roughly 128,000 total. That’s about 0.038% of the medical profession - but the total fraud involved $14.6 billion, far exceeding the Minnesota cases. No one claims there is a “medical culture” problem, even though the impact is enormous.

Framing 0.13% of a population as a “cultural” issue misrepresents the data and unfairly stigmatizes an entire community. Fraud occurs across many groups and professions. The proper response is consistent law enforcement, not sweeping generalizations based on ethnicity or nationality.

Sadly, I’ve seen this pattern too often: politicizing fraud (or any typically unacceptable behavior) eventually leads to its normalization.

How? Because fraud is targeted at certain groups for political reasons rather than at those who are actually accountable. When that happens, fraud committed by the politicians doing the targeting gets brushed aside with the excuse: “They did it, so we can do it too.”

Right, that's why I think we cannot be selective. Fraud is fraud. BAD.

Yes there's no association between culture and pervasiveness of fraud.

Signed your white American male which is responsible for most of the fraud cases in the country.

The sad thing is these white fraudsters are preying on other races because the other races are more likely to be victims.
Key Findings on Fraud and Demographics
    • Perpetrators: FBI data indicates that white individuals comprise a significant portion of arrests for offenses such as fraud (85.4% in 2019), forgery, and embezzlement.
    • White-Collar Crime: Approximately 75% of white-collar offenders are white males, according to analysis of convictions.
    • Victimization: A 2004 Federal Trade Commission (FTC) survey found that about 6% of white consumers reported being victims of fraud, compared to 17% of Black consumers and 34% of American Indians/Alaska Natives.
    • State-Level Data: Georgia, Delaware, and Nevada had the highest rates of fraud and identity theft reports per 100,000 people in 2022.
    • Types of Fraud: The most common scams reported to the FTC include imposter scams, online shopping issues, and investment-related scams.

“Selling access and influence is the defining feature of the Trump White House, and this President has spent these first 100 days clearing a path for corruption and letting big corporations, his fellow felons, and billionaire buddies know that the Trump White House is open for business—for a price,” said Ranking Member Connolly. “If you put enough money directly into Trump’s personal pocket or show that you’re loyal to the MAGA Cartel, you too could find that your cases have been dropped, that red tape has been cut, or you get some lucrative business and government contracts thrown your way. Meanwhile, the Trump Administration is gutting vital government programs and services, stripping Americans of their health care and benefits, and raising families’ cost of living—all while gifting billionaires another tax giveaway. 100 days in and costs, chaos, and corruption are all up as Republicans make life harder for working Americans.”

Below are just some of the Trump Administration’s conflicts of interest:

    1. Trump placed his media company in a trust with himself as sole beneficiary and his son as trustee, maintaining financial control while creating the appearance of separation.
    2. Interim U.S. Attorney for D.C. Ed Martin ended prosecution of a January 6th defendant after he represented that defendant in private practice.
    3. Trump maintains ownership of his business empire while delegating day-to-day operations to his sons, refusing the blind trust arrangement used by previous presidents.
    4. Trump reportedly seeks to reacquire his Washington, D.C. hotel that received millions of dollars in business from government officials and foreign delegations during his first term.
    5. Prior to his confirmation, U.S. Department of Defense (DOD) Secretary Hegseth’s wife owned thousands of dollars in defense stocks, including companies that contract with the Defense Department.
    6. Trump appointed his largest campaign donor and the world’s richest man, Elon Musk, to lead a White House office with broad, government-wide authority and special access to confidential agency information, even as Musk continues to run multiple businesses regulated by the federal government.
    7. Trump signed an order deregulating the cryptocurrency industry just as his family launched digital currency ventures.
    8. Trump fired the U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) Inspector General, who was reportedly investigating alleged animal abuse at Musk’s company Neuralink.
    9. Trump fired members of the National Labor Relations Board (NLRB), making it impossible for the agency to take regulatory action. NLRB had previously brought an enforcement action against Musk’s company, SpaceX, and was engaged in litigation with the company.
    10. Robert Kennedy Jr. refused to completely cut ties to a vaccine lawsuit against a pharmaceutical company while serving as U.S. Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) Secretary, divesting his personal stake but arranging that proceeds from the lawsuit would instead go to his son.
    11. The Trump Administration hired Scott Langmack to work on the DOGE team at agencies including the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) despite the fact that he is the COO of Kunkun, a property technology company that offers information to real estate investors. Langmack’s role at HUD raises questions about whether he has access to HUD databases that reportedly contain “everything from homelessness rates to environmental and health hazards to federally insured mortgages.”
    12. The Trump Administration hired Mike Mirski to work on the DOGE team at agencies including HUD despite the fact that he manages a company affected by HUD policies.
    13. Tom Krause was hired to work on payment systems at the U.S. Department of the Treasury (Treasury) while serving as the CEO of Cloud Software. His position at Treasury raises questions about the extent to which his access to sensitive payments system information could give his company competitive advantages in future contracts. Cloud Software subsidiary Citrix previously donated $1 million to the Trump inaugural fund.
    14. At the direction of DOGE, the Trump Administration fired 400 Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) employees. Since FAA had begun to fine Musk’s company SpaceX for failing to meet the requirements of its licenses in the fall of 2024, the involvement of Musk-led DOGE in the firing of FAA employees raises the question of whether the firings will have a chilling effect on future FAA actions regarding Musk’s companies.
    15. The Trump Administration “all but shut down” the Department of Labor’s (DOL) Office of Federal Contract Compliance Programs while that office was investigating Tesla for alleged racial harassment.

    Fascinating narrative you have here.

White Americans are 60% of the U.S. population. They will make up "most of" most categories. But you know that and are deciding to be dishonest.

A study of over 31,000 white-collar criminals on federal supervision found that 64% were white, 27% were Black, and 4% were Asian.

In Ruhland and Selzer’s (Citation2020) study of 31,306 white-collar criminals (including fraudsters) on federal community supervision in the US from 2006 to 2014, they found that the majority of both men and women were White, comprising almost two thirds of the sample (64%). Black offenders made up just over one quarter of the sample (27%) and Asians 4%.

A Department of Justice statement noted that non-U.S. citizens accounted for 28% of all federal fraud arrests, indicating that U.S. citizens (which include people of all races) made up 72%.

    About 14-15% of the U.S. Population are foreign-born non-citizens.

Black people and foreigners are hugely overrepresented here.

He loves white collar criminals. The bigger the fraudster, the more appealing they are to Trump. The bigger the fraudster and the richer they are makes opportunity for taking bigger bribes for favors.

I'll do this for you, but it's going to cost you lots of money, investing in my companies, or working with me and returning the favor when I ask for your help, connections, tricks of the trade, and support down the road. For a crooked con like Trump, power is a wonderful way to get what you want, regardless of how illegal it is.

The “Nigerian Prince” reference comes from a type of advance-fee email scam that became widely known in the 1990s and 2000s. Scammers would pose as wealthy individuals, often claiming to be Nigerian royalty, asking recipients to help transfer large sums of money in exchange for a cut of the funds. Only a tiny fraction of people actually fell for these scams, and they were carried out by small networks of criminals, not the general population.

It’s important to note that this scam’s notoriety is about the method, not Nigerian culture. Using it to claim a cultural predisposition toward fraud is inaccurate and misleading. Fraud exists in all countries and communities, and the right response is consistent law enforcement, not broad generalizations.

What a dumbass statement. Certain countries/communities and culture are known for certain practices or prevalence of practices.

To pretend no distinction exists is beyond moronic.

Nigeria - well known for scams and is considered a global hotspot.

India - well known for rape. In 2018, a Thomson Reuters Foundation survey of experts ranked India as the world's most dangerous country for women due to the high risk of sexual violence and human trafficking

People should be aware and take these things into consideration.

Fraud is not a trait of any culture or ethnicity. It thrives where enforcement is weak, corruption is common, economic pressures are high, or online anonymity allows exploitation. For example, scams are widespread globally, from Russia to NK, and increasingly online... conditions, not culture, explain this.

Even in cases where certain individuals or networks commit fraud repeatedly -- such as Trump and some of his close associates, which is well-documented through court cases and convictions -- that does not mean all their supporters or their broader “MAGA culture” are fraudsters. A subset acting dishonestly does not define an entire group.

Dont forget the main agency in America that has power to investigate financial scams is the CFPB which Trump has defunded and gutted. Hes fired over half agency and they dont have the manpower to investigate financial crimes which leads to consumers being scammed on a large scale.

Dont allow these MAGATs @tallanvor @K9Texan @HTM to gaslight you that they care about fraud

The sad part is american consumers are getting scammed left and right. The scammers know that nobody is watching them

Which is a shame. Actions like defunding or gutting an agency tasked with investigating financial scams clearly change the environment in ways that make fraud more likely. It’s simple: if enforcement is weakened, scams naturally increase.

That said, anyone trying to gaslight needs to face the facts: to repeat - 0.13% charged with healthcare fraud does not indicate a cultural “fraud” problem. This is hard data, and generalizing from it is simply wrong.

Sometimes, I think people end up gaslighting themselves.
