As a Cowboy fan I can tell you I am embarrased. I know not having Woodson is hurting the D big time and the injury to hunter is hurting at CB but these guys are pathetic. Aside from Greg Ellis the D-line is horrible. Even Glover has disappeared this year. On major problem is we have small LBs so why have such a small D-line? Tuna needs to either get bigger LBs (which he seems to be doing by making Coakley compete for a position) or get bigger D-linemen. Dat is not making any plays. I think it is largely because the D-line is so small that teh O-line can get to him. Coakley is gone next year. I don't know if it's age or the fact he has competition but he has been invisible. Singleton is what he is a very average player. Maybe Roy Williams is having problems assuming Woodson's role but he has been getting beat badly this year. he has the talent and he will come back around but it shows how much Woddy helps him. Teh draft can't get here soon enough.
I knew we were in trouble in the off-season. Parcells didn't even bother to go after the veteran cornerbacks. I guess he wasn't counting on Woodson and Hunter going down. He also released Mario Edwards before the injuries. As a coach, I think you need to plan a little better and have some depth. A few injuries and it's pee-wee league out there now. These guys couldn't cover a wagon. You signed Marcus Wiley...big freaking deal. I just thought Parcells was putting too much faith in his new players the second season and improvements that he expected from them so he didn't put any pressure on himself to go after the bigger free agents. BIG MISTAKE! Yes, injuries have killed us but all teams go through injuries. The fact that we lack any kind of depth on defense is there for all to see. I think Parcells is to blame as well as the defense. The lack of depth at wide receiver now apparent with Glenn going down and the fact that our running backs couldn't run through an obstacle free tunnel without tripping over themselves adds to the mediocrity. Eddie George is having a terrible year. He's done jack sh*t. I'll take Rashard Lee or Anderson over George any day of the week. The defensive line applies just enough pressure to make the qb scramble but never gets to the qb. The fact that they cannot create turnovers if the defender was holding the ball out egging them on to take a swat at it is something else. I've never seen a defense unable to create a turnover. How many recovered fumbles or interceptions do we have this season? Three? It's ridiculous. This team is a f*cking joke. For once, you cannot blame the quarterback even though he has had some bad play. The only bright spot is Vinny can deliver the ball but you need to have receivers who aren't seventh round rookies running proper routes, catching passes, and making moves which they cannot do. This team deserves all the boos they get. Their a bunch of underachievers who haven't made any progress from day one. If anything, their rolling backwards downhill. I hope we lose the rest of the games here on out because we deserve it. I also think Parcells should retire after the season. He doesn't need to be around while we rebuild around Drew and I expect us to do that next season while starting that process this season.
The day that meglomaniac Jerry Jones leaves the Cowboys will be a sad day for all Cowboy hatas everywhere.
