Thanks to astros123 for sharing this information in another thread. It appears that Jr. was the second largest shareholder in a company in which he was named an advisor AFTER Sr. won the 24' election. US drone firm appoints Trump Jr as adviser and sees stock price soar | Donald Trump Jr | The Guardian https://share.google/gnjKXsUNc5NJA4zBz It's since come out that the company is being awarded contracts by the DOD. This reeks of conflict of interest and may very well be corruption. The Trump family has plenty of money and should NOT be engaging in such activities.
Im not condoning this behavior, however this is rampant in Washington. The issue is the American people have allowed this to happen. Our federal government us extremely corrupt
Sure, you can blame the people for voting in crooks and cowards--but we don't have any lobbyists or big donor money. We don't make TV ads or manipulate social media or pal around with billionaires trying to squeeze every half-cent out of us. The only way this happens is with a corrupt Supreme Court and a quisling Congress that merrily went along with the Executive Branch snatching all of their authority. Junior's deeply corrupt actions, including crypto and who knows what else, are a symptom of an extremely unhealthy political system metastasizing into every aspect of public life by the day. Of course, the only cure lies with us but some voters will always be pro-cancer.
uhhh uhhhh uhhhh yeah I have to question your view on reality if you really believe Democrats are above the fray. speaking of getting cozy with the ultra wealthy, who do you think benefits the most from citizens united? Presidential Campaign Fundraising by Party 2024 Democratic Party: ~$1.02B Republican Party: ~$0.42B (mid-cycle totals; final numbers will be higher) 2020 Democratic Party: ~$3.16B Republican Party: ~$0.83B 2016 Democratic Party: ~$0.84B Republican Party: ~$0.67B 2012 Democratic Party: ~$0.76B Republican Party: ~$0.63B 2008 Democratic Party: ~$1.16B Republican Party: ~$0.65B 2004 Democratic Party: ~$0.54B Republican Party: ~$0.38B 2000 Democratic Party: ~$0.19B Republican Party: ~$0.39B
I was talking regular folks, you know, "the people." Nowhere in that post were Democrats mentioned. Instead, you read that into my comment. I wonder why?
Trump has always been a grifter and crypto schemer from day 1. Shamelessly, in fact. In the first term he gave his failing son in law a lifeline with the Saudi deal (2 billion to his nonexistant before that fund) and it gave him fee based capital after blowing through his own. You also had Biden giving his son Ukraine burisma deals to go through hookers and drugs in taxpayer funded hotels. Politicians on both sides of the aisle have been insider trading for decades. You only see fall guys like Eric Adams get busted for a few thousand when they go against their party. It's all over politics but I can't see the public being too tolerant of it in the future. The younger crowd is less accepting of the notion that corruption should be the norm for politicians. Trump has done a lot of good and brought about a much needed shake up but he pays himself and his entire family well through these never ending scratch my back deals.
