I continue to see names with exuberant salary range got thrown into the trade rumor discussions.

I continue to see name with proven negative impacts to every team’s locker room being our potential target.

I continue to hear the urge of trading players not remotely as good and impactful as the (young) player to be traded out.

I continue to remain skeptical about most of these chatters because of those obvious reasons.

I don't mind Alvarado at all. He's got a lot of fight in him. He's a little undersized, about the same profile as Holiday. Alvarado may give you more assists and fewer TOs.

Our front office wouldn't want to part with many assets for A; New Orleans, on the other hand, would throw in Alvarado if you wanted to make a bigger move for Zion. Ha! Hard pass.

    Kyle Lowry, Goran Dragic

Rockets should find a underrated PG on another teams bench. That is ready to become a Starting PG.

Dennis Schroeder makes the most sense.

Won a Championship for the Lakers

    Won the Gold Medal

Was teammates with Sengun and more players.

A team that intentionally doesn't run any kind of offense does not need a PG.

They have a PG now and they bring him off the bench and don't use him as a PG when he's on the court... opting instead to just have random players go Iso over and over again. Trading for another PG would be a waste.

why would the rockets do that? mccain is not a PG and he's redundant with Reed. He can't defend at all.

Alvarado is probably the most reasonable suggestion if we have to make a move. He's actually a much better AST:TO guy than Holiday, more like a poor man's FVV in that regard honestly. He's accustomed to coming off the bench for a bad/mediocre team so he should be willing to play whatever role asked, I think?

I wouldn't give up Tari for him though. Maybe a protected FRP.

I don’t understand trading Tari or DFS for someone. After Jalen, and especially Brooks, we need to hold onto depth. Need those boys for 2nd half of the season and playoffs

Westbrook is your guy boys. Holiday + 2nds would probably get it done. Dude is avg. 7 assist on a bad team. Let him come off the bench and get our shooters the ball. Reed can still develop but Westbrook could be the steady hand who pushes playmaking off the bench

    Get Alvarado out of here

I don't see Russ as a steady hand. At this point in his career, he's a highly-volatile spark off the bench type of player. The two problems are, one, I don't think you can trust him in clutch time, and two, he's a poor fit on this roster due to his suspect shooting. Our roster is already built in such a way that we often have two and sometimes three non-shooters on the court at the same time.

I'm not sure if we need to add a guard at all as opposed to just seeing what we can get out of the players we have. But if we do add one, I think it should be a guy who can shoot, dribble, and make plays, not just two out of the three

I think they just gotta lean into Reed. I don't really think any of our wings should be moved...I'd be fine with Okogie being moved for a guy like Schroeder, but with Tari's injury history and DFS coming off injury I don't think I'd want to give up that depth. I kind of want to keep Capela for the same reason. He's not the greatest, but with this team this year he's a solid 3rd guy to have when we need him.

It seems like every few games they lean into Reed being onball a lot more and have success doing so, and then they go back to having him sit in the corner most of his minutes....

And I actually believe JD could provide some solid minutes in a pinch if needed. Said it earlier in this thread, but I don't see any of the guys being mentioned as guys that would come in and move the needle much. Sengun, KD and Amen aren't going to give the ball to Alvarado and let him run the offense, nor should they. He'd just mainly be a defender and spot up shooter.

The thing is - what are we going to do if Reed’s unavailable? We don’t have any backup. Sure, Ime can throw JD in. But knowing Ime, the more reasonable solution will be more minutes of Amen handling the ball, which is not ideal.

At what point can we sign CP3 outright?
