I tend to agree. Our offense is of the "ugly but effective" variety. I mean a large part of it is cleaning up misses for extra bites at the apple.

The defense has fallen off. Dillon is gone. Amen's role requires more offensive energy. Tari, DFS out. Tate isn't what he once was. Jalen was actually pesky around the ball. That perimeter is much more susceptible than the past 2 seasons. I'm hoping a little more grace with the injury report has us looking like we're that defensive-minded team again.

Thanks. On the problem with that last play, the spacing was wrong if it was supposed to be a pitch back. Holiday should have stayed at the corner instead of shifting up to the wing bringing the defender into Jabari's space. Jabari has nowhere to cut. (He can't cut to the basket because we need a 3pt shot.) Durant as the decoy drawing two defenders should go farther to the weak side. It's not just Sengun and Jabari failing to execute. The whole play was just poorly executed.

Why isn’t there more post-up at the elbow for KD? He’s one of the very few players who can just elevate and shoot over anyone. It feels like after the first game of the season, when he tried to post up at the elbow but was denied by physical push-offs from Dort, they haven’t gone back to that.

Wow KD & coach’s goals are definitely different than the franchise’s. They want to burn it down for a single season maybe two before KD retires. Championship now, to hell with future, use all assets to make it happen. They are treating the Rockets like a rental. Just like KD has with every other franchise he has been a part of.

This. The offense is a more visible problem but the defense has been just as bad if not worse considering the nature of the team. It's basketball and teams go through downtimes.
