    Probably from pollution.

Our world will become inhabitable and we won't be able to develop technologies to combat it or help us evacuate in time.

How long will this take? That I do not know.

I don't know how the world will end but I suspect it will happen at halftime of the Superbowl where the Texans are up by 6 touchdowns

I'm not sure humanity ends, however, our kids and grandkids will have a much different world than the one we have known. It's clear that there are inhabitable places now that will become uninhabitable in the near (1-3 generations) future. We have some models, but still very little clarity about the scale and scope and timeline. It's exceedingly difficult to accurately account for cascading failures.

My guess is we go into a modern dark age--Idiocracy style--with lots of starvation and mass migrations leading to large conflicts as groups fight for resources, including water.

I occasionally think about Neal Stephenson's world-building opening to Anathem and it would not surprise me if we eventually end up with something similar.

Idk how, but Pete Hegseth will probably be drunk on a group chat telling his lawn guy and mistress about the incoming nuke when it happens.

global pandemic, no reason to assume we can come up with a vaccine, or optimize effective containment, for every single future variant or new organism

What about the "old variants" and "old organisms" that we haven't been exposed to for many thousands of years, that are now currently getting thawed out of the Arctic permafrost?
